All the above wallets are created offline. Never show your private key to anyone and never lose it. If you choose to save your keys on USB never plug your USB into a online computer and make sure wifi is disabled. The above methods are what I use and work 100%. I have checked all my transactions and had no problems. If i gain over a certain amount on an exchange I transfer to my blockchain public address. If the exchange crashes your coin is safe on the blockchain. Any Q's I will help best I can :) Happy Xmas :) Excellent help for the people that think exchanges are safe. Don't you have to import that paper wallet into a standard desktop wallet to move things out? The Abyss stares back... Glp ping pong champ... |

Don't you have to import that paper wallet into a standard desktop wallet to move things out? I would recommend Exodus Wallet if you wish to move your coin on to your computer but I have never seen the point in that. It would be better and safer to leave a few coin the exchange to trade with and it would also be less in transaction fees not moving it about too much. I think it is a lot safer being away from wallets on computers in a long term investment. You know it is there and you can check through the block explorer link. you don't really want to link a online wallet to your block addresses that store large amounts. Not having a wallet on my computer seemed a lot safer to me. If i choose to use one in the future it would be Exodus. :) |

Quoting: Jungleboogie Cheers! No problem :) Just took me an hour to sort it but I know it will be worth it for a lot of people wary of exchanges holding their coin and are unsure of how to store it safely. I learnt this over the past couple of month and it can be daunting. Hope it makes it a little easier for you all who are not sure of how to store it. I have watched and learned so much in the last two months, the least I can do is share what I have learnt. |

If you PC is infected with a virus designed to steal crypto wallets, you would be giving away your private keys to them. As soon as you turn you wireless router back on the virus can send your keys to the hackers. Do not generate you wallet(s) on your desktop PC after you have booted it up from it's hard drive. You should only create the keys on a virgin, air-gapped PC with no hard drive. You need to boot your PC from a virgin DVD of the OS (like a linux live DVD). Create the keys, print the keys. Shut down the PC, put the hard drive back in the PC, start the router and boot as normal. |

How many people would put 14 bit coins in some internet address? Seems real shady only a dummy would do that |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 76014163 United Kingdom 12/21/2017 06:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you would like more security you would need a second computer that has never been on the internet. If you bought a new computer for this you would have to open it up and remove the wireless card + hard drive before you even switch it on. You could then create a live linux cd which has been verified through sha256sum check + gpg keys (tails) Then run the cd OS live system to generate your wallet on the wirelessless, hard driveless computer you have created. Generate your wallet in a dark room, no mobile phones, cameras, curtains open etc etc. I did mine in a tent, in a cave 80 miles away from the city ten miles underground. I was however compromised when I heard what sounded like a fly so I relocated and eventually succeeded. Have A Great Xmas X |

I run a verified version of the latest Linux Tails OS from the cd drive and wrote down the addresses. |
