I just hiked out to the end of a very long pier on Lake Michigan in the dark of the night with the moon hanging out over the lake and the snow coming down.
I was the only one outside and the lake was flat as glass with small icebergs beginning to form. It was so quiet even the voices in my head stopped for a moment.

That was the perfect Christmas gift.
