Had a Ghostbusters Themed Lucid Dream with Egon Spengler.
This was a fun albeit dark spooky dream which was like being inside a Ghostbusters Movie. I'm walking with my daughter in the dream and see Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) standing outside this apartment building holding a P.K.E Meter and instantly this forces a reality check. For one, he's looks relatively the same age as he did in the original 1984 movie.

I know there is no way I should be seeing him unless this was a dream. My daughter even recognizes him as the guy from Ghostbusters. I tell her, "I know, this is a dream.". Egon is not wearing his Ghostbusters outfit rather the same outfit from the original when they went into the Library. He's following his P.K.E meter and walks up towards the lobby of this apartment.

I decide to follow excited for the idea some ghost might appear in the dream. My daughter also follows me into the apartment. I have some intuitive flash as to where the ghosts are and walk past Egon up a flight of stairs to the second floor. The doors of the apartment building are all wooden doors painted white.

There is one door that has this black ichor around the edges. It is a off hinge falling a bit backwards in the frame. I tell my daughter to stay in the hall and I open the door to this dimly lit apartment. The apartment is furnished but no one is there. I don't see any ghosts but I can feel this eery creepiness like something is watching me.

I go to the bedroom and the sheets on the bed seem to have something underneath them. There is a cane by the door. I grab it an poke the sheets as there are air bubbles or maybe ghost bubbles making the sheets rise and fall. When I poke them the sheets go completely flat like something just instantly left.

I turn and walk back to the living room. By this time Egon is standing at the entrance of the apartment and his P.K.E meter is on full alert. He reacts to something that's behind me and looks frightened. I turn around and this woman wearing a nightgown is standing about a foot behind me. It would be a jump scare for most people. She looked a little bit decayed, her mouth dripping blood and eyes dark and sunken. Here hair has that wavy water effect.

I back up a few steps and she raises her hand to point at me, her mouth opening up as if to scream. This ghost cat walks around her feet and then this male ghost materializes beside her. Again, I know I am dreaming so this is actually really cool to see all the effects take place. The man also looks like a zombie.

He pulls out a gun and raises it to the side of her head and shoots her. She drops like a rag doll, he then points it at the ghost cat and shoots it also. By this time Egon freaks out and runs away, there are some other people who curiously stopped to look in and they run off screaming. The man points the gun at me and shoots, but the bullet just passes through.

He then points it at his head and pulls the trigger collapsing beside what I presume is his wife. I'm not at all scared, just very interested in what's going on. I don't usually have much fear reaction these days in my dream. The ghosts then start to rise up but some force is preventing them from leaving the Earthly plane, their souls bumping against this barrier and then fall back down.

I start hearing the Ghostbusters theme song. No denying that this is the song. And it makes the dream even more cooler. Except now everyone has run off and my Daughter isn't there anymore. I walk out of the apartment into the hall listening to the theme song smiling at how cool and amazing dreams really are.

I go to find my daughter but inevitably wake up during the search. Which is too bad, I would have liked to see more of the original cast in perfect 3D virtual dream realism.

Re: Had a Ghostbusters Themed Lucid Dream with Egon Spengler.
Thought I would post my technique on Genre Specific Lucid Dreaming for any on interested.

What is GSLD? Take any movie, video game, or novel and then re-create it or elements of it in a lucid dream. I wrote a quick synopsis on this technique:

Pick a book, movie or video game you enjoy and then re-create it in a lucid dream. That is the goal of this thread. It's not hard to do, and if you really enjoy certain genres it will make your dreaming experiences extremely fun and entertaining.

Before I started Lucid Dreaming, I was already having dreams that were influenced by movies. As a child, some of my most favorite were Star Wars and Cartoons like Bugs Bunny. It was this level of fun and adventure which fueled my passion for lucid dreaming. I used to play RPG's and then fall asleep bringing the pen-and-paper world to life with vivid adventures in a pure fantasy setting as real as I experience this waking reality.

As I got older and learned to control my dreams introducing lucidity to the equation, it made these genre specific lucid dreams so spectacular and amazing that I knew I genuinely found something in dreaming that brings imagination to life. Movies continued to emerge like Akira, Total Recall, Lord of the Rings and even horror like Evil Dead. Video games began to shape dreams like Doom, Quake, Skyrim, Fallout to name a few.

My dream life was better than TV and video games, they merely suggested the idea and the dream gave it true realism. It was a fully immersed first-person virtual reality inspired by creative ideas and fantastic worlds. 30 years later, I am still reaping the rewards of knowing how to shape a dream into something I desire and gain an experience that this waking world can only inspire.

Let's get started with techniques. The first thing is pick what you want to dream about. If it's a movie, watch it making notes of details and know that subconsciously you are already programming the dream. If it's a game, same thing play the game making notes of the details telling yourself you want to dream it.

When you are ready to sleep, tell yourself what you want to dream recalling the details and notes and impress that into your intent. As you fall asleep, visually remember and recall the details and if you WILD, let these details start to shape the hypnagogic shift.

If you MILD use affirmations about your intent to dream the genre you picked and impress the memories and details into the dream.

I've found with MILD that sometimes it takes a while before I have a breakthrough so not always on the first try but likely within the week of preparing and influencing the dream content by immersing in the media.

With WILD it can happen with the shaping of the hypnagogic shift allowing me to walk right into that specified genre. So for this type of dreaming I have found it most effective but WILD is difficult even for me, I have a lower success rate than with MILD.

Both have proven effective but the real magic is the actual resource you are using to influence it. The more immersion into it, the better before you take it to the dreamstate.

Here is a quick start guide on luid dreaming to get you started: [link to youaredreaming.org]

This is my favorite technique with lucid dreams because dream realism is far superior to modern day computer graphics and better than current virtual reality gear. Why? Because unlike VR it engages you with full 100% immersion into the dream world and facilitates all of the 5 senses. I love movies, video games and novels so why not take that rich imagination and wonderful worlds recreating them in the form of a kick ass dream?

Here is another example from previous dreams.

Flash from Justice League Dream:
Thread: Had a lucid dream where I was the Flash from Justice League.

Star Wars Old Republic
Thread: My Epic Star Wars The Old Republic Lucid Dream very TL/DR but was fantastic and amazing.

TL;DR I battled Cthulhu and his Children in a lucid dream.
Today's GSLD was no exception. Having lucid dreamed for 30 years I am naturally realizing I am dreaming in nearly every dream I have, every night even in naps. The reality check comes naturally I clue in the moment I am in most dreams because of the setting being different from waking life. The moment I was in this dream, I realized I was dreaming and was blown away at the beauty of the building and courtyard.

I walk to this large multi-story building, at least 20 story. The courtyard leading up the building was beautifully landscaped with a variety of plants and flowers. In the center of the courtyard was this massive 30 foot tall cactus standing at the middle of this circle which formed the sidewalk. I had to stop and admire it. Like all dreams, the realism was as real as waking life. Crystal clear colors, perfect lighting. The building has large glass doors.

The interior of the building is a beautiful piece of architecture. There is a circular pool strangely part of the lobby. The owner of the building comes to greet me. He is this man wearing black circular glasses and has a van dyke beard. He tells me that he summoned me here because of my knowledge of dreams and wanted me to help him with his experiments.

I notice lots of statues and carvings that have a very occult theme to them. The man wants me to participate in some ritual which he believes will help bridge this world (his dream world) and another dimension. Where I clue into the fact this is has a genre influnce was when he was talking about using a book called the Necronomicon. Zing... he wants to summon Cthulhu. If you are familiar with H.P Lovecraft then the theme would be obvious.

We go to an elevator and already I am sensing creatures from this dark dimension peering into the dream. He has already been busy conducting experiments and when we arrive on this floor, I can kind of see vague ghostly images of Lovecraft inspired fish and creatures trying to break through in this nice flashes. Each room contains humans possessed by such evil. We end up in this room that has a large summoning circle and candles on the floor at each point of this multi layered pentagram.

In the center of the circle is a book pedestal with the Necronomicon on it, much like what one would see in a church with bible on top. He walks over to the book explaining to me it's power and the spells and rituals contained within. He starts to read some passages and the entire room fluctuates and the creatures pushing through start to materialize with some crawling down the walls and pillars. I get this flash and see Cthulhu with all his glory, tentical and all awakening from the deep. He gazes at me and in a flash I am back at the beginning of the dream in the courtyard.

However the courtroom has changed, it is still relatively the same but the plants and center cactus have all changed. I notice the changes especially apparent in that the cactus instead of being a round pillar as before now has fins and the color is a deeper blue green. It also has some forks near the top which didn't exist before. I still realize I am dreaming and found the whole effect quite interesting.

I enter the building, this time the pool has a glass cover over it. It looks resonably the same as before. But now the creatures are everywhere and every person is possessed by this evil although masked behind the humans only given away by the eyes. I go to the elevator and return to the summoning room, this time Cthulhu is in the room at the center of the circle and peers at me causing the same effect. I am back at the courtyard as if the dream reset. Again the plants and landscape have altered slightly again. It's fun don't get me wrong I'm loving all the horror.

I want to stop Cthulhu but his ability to reset the dream is noted. I decide I need some backup and decide to create a few super powered dream characters to help me with my quest to stop the Call of Cthulhu. Who better than the Hulk? I wanted a few Avengers and ended up with the Green Arrow instead of Hawkeye. Well, close but not perfect. Lastly was Dr. Strange.

From this point however, the Hulk was by far the best character. Unlike the shit CGI we have in movies the dream realism of the Hulk made him look damn real, he fit the setting and lighting perfectly. He talked like the Hulk and being a bit of a Hulk fan standing there in a dream with this simulation of the Hulk was pure nostalgia.

In this third iteration of the courtyard, the creatures were now exiting the building and we had to fight our way though them. Hulk was smashing the shit out of them sending them flying with grand slams. The Green Arrow was shooting them and of course Dr. Strange using magic. I just walked watching it all, if I was attacked I just used dream control like psychokinesis almost like the force sending the creatures flying.

We get to the elevator and the Hulk couldn't fit so it was just Strange and the Green arrow. Hulk instead smashed his way up through the roof climbing the floors, great building destruction. We get to the summoning chamber fighting our way through the unholy hordes of Cthulhu's children and again when the door opens the dream resets.

This time, we all arrive back except the change happens again. In this instance every one (except) me mutates slightly. Green Arrow's clothing for example changed color and he ended up having a more Assassin's Creed look. Dr. Strange lost his powers. The Hulk ends up developing Cyclop's eye lasers and this effect was very cool because he couldn't control it. Screams in agony as his eyes start to change and crackle with this black energy and he shoots these beams, but they are full of this dark energy and burns his hands when he tries to cover them. The beams cut through the courtyard and fron of the building. We are a total mess. We don't even make it into the building because the Hulk collapses the whole thing with his new mutated power.

The building now collapsing causes the dream to change and the ground changes into water and I find myself floating in this raging river. Someone reaches in and pulls me out. All my super allies are gone but I stop and reflect on how fantastic that dream was. The dream changed to something else and it wasn't as fun so I'll leave it there.

Having these types of dreams which using GSLD has made my dream life better than video games. The entertainment level is off the charts. Most fun I have and best of all it's free. The only price of admission is consciousness during sleep.
