He still had the stripes. I just got up and pulled out a original poster from World War II that's framed with other US gov posters layered in it. I bought it a year and a half ago for $8 at a thrift store. At the time he had the stripes. Now it DOES NOT. I asked family and they remember the stripes too then I turned the framed poster around and they were stunned. Mine has the hole from being posted on the wall from the war.
