Snow, sleet to unfold across portions of southern US as cold air arrives

Cold air infiltrating the southern United States will lead to some snow and sleet through the end of the week.
"Unlike many cool air bursts so far during astronomical autumn, which have only lasted a couple of days, cold air will sweep in and then build," AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams said.
Late-week temperatures will be slashed by up to 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit compared to the first couple days of the week, settling at below-average levels for this weekend and beyond.
Moisture is forecast to linger in areas from Texas to the Carolinas as temperatures fall.

“Winter will pay a visit to parts of Texas into Thursday night as enough cold air will be in place for snow and/or sleet to fall,” according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

I have to drive up a mountain to get to my place in GA (I have a Subaru Outback with new tires). This will be my first winter here. I'm not sure if it's better to try to drive it or park below and try to walk it. LOL!

Maybe I'll just go out and buy a whole bunch of Kitty Litter or ice melt!

I just drove into work in Atlanta, after watching the Falcons beat down the Saints, it's 40 degrees and misty. The snow is up north near the Tennessee border.

1 inch of snow! Call in the national guard! How will anyone survive? It snowed here for the first time yesterday. 10 inches. Upstate NY. Totally regular. Are the people in Georgia pathetic? 1inch of snow is not severe.

Walker Co. Has maybe a half inch on the truck hood, none on the ground.

It was 39 fucking degrees with very light rain when I drive into work this morning. Yet the transplantardz were driving 40 mph on the damn interstate.

These ignorant fucks must think there is some physics defying vortex that allows water to freeze at above freezing temperatures.
