How many federally illegal weed dispensaries are there? The states or citizens of them wouldn't stand for that intrusion in that manner. Something this big has got to be something that passes the political line. Kid shit, meth, human trafficking, it isn't weed. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75610119 United States 11/27/2017 10:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Stormwatcher@damartin32 just tweeted that there are 4289 sealed indictments filed in past 3 weeks. Normal is 1000 in 12 months in 2009. Quoting: PACNWGUY-01 The storm are coming. The 1000 cases from the 2009 report were filings from 2006 that remained sealed in 2009. Its like comparing oranges to volvos. Sealed indictments are only sealed until the preliminary most off the time. I don't know how many indictments or charging papers were file under seal in 2006, but I'm very certain it was WAY above 1000. It seems like there were close to 100 with just the rincon bust. A report on permanently sealed cases is a study on judicial transparency. Law requires the people have knowledge of judicial proceedings. Sealed cases are a blatant disregard for the rights of the people. Sealed indictments and charging papers are a matter of custody. People will flee if they are not filed under seal. Someone mentioned the possibility that some of these were a part of Session's war on Marijuana. There is a tremendous amount of reach thinking these sealed papers are connected to Mueller. I hope they are, but I haven't seen anyone affirm the theory. |

Its common to file a sealed indictment so that the perp doesn't know who they are planning to arrest. Some indictments can be for a search warrant. When the party is arrested, they unseal the indictment. Its a common tactic used when going after RICO cases when they are getting ready for a big STING on multiple people. If they were to unseal the 4289 indictments today, People would be disappearing and destroying evidence. There will be a time in the not so distant future when they will hunt Liberals with DOGS. Democrats vote for what benefits them while Republicans vote for what benefits the country. |

I didn't say sealed indictments were, I specifically said sealed indictments and charging papers are standard practice to prevent people from fleeing. "Sealed indictments and charging papers are a matter of custody. People will flee if they are not filed under seal." The substance of my post is that 4289 sealed indictments cannot be compared to 1000 permanently sealed cases from 2006. The two numbers have nothing to do with each other. Most criminal cases begin sealed until the person is in custody. Permanently sealed cases on the other hand, often start off public and become sealed during the case to protect sensitive information or prevent the use of the federal courts as a vehicle of defamation and harassment. I would be interested in an actual comparison of sealed indictments this quarter vs same quarter 2015. I support draining the swamp and I'm not insulting that effort. The logic in comparing those two numbers is just incredibly flawed. |

I'm guessing these are mainly search warrants of some sort. Probably going after "content" such as email pictures, etc. |
