he served in the U.S. Air Force as a computer-communications manager, certified instructor, and key liaison on multiple special duty assignments with the newly formed U.S. Space Command and U.S. Air Force Space Command. His last military
assignment was with the White House Communications Agency at The White House, where he worked within arm’s length of Presidents Bush and Clinton in a non-political capacity. He served on“Presidential Advance Details” and managed mission critical computer-communications for the President,Vice President, U.S. Secret Service, The White House, Air Force One, Marine One, and Camp David Presidential Retreat. After the Air Force, then NASA acquired him.

Should a faraday cage be grounded or not? YES DIFFIDENTLY!

What is the expected affect on vehicles and general transportation? ANYTHING WITH A CHIP WILL BE AFFECTED. WILL NOT AFFECT THE COIL ANYTHING 1970 OR LATER HAS SOME FORM OF A CHIP

Assume worst case EMP. How long to bring the grid back up? YEARS, NOT DAYS, NOT MONTHS BUT YEARS!

Will ground potential rise negate the protective effects of movs,gas tubes, and other earth connected voltage shunting devices? THIS IS A POSSIBILITY

why hasn't the grid already been protected? BECAUSE THE GOV'T DOESN'T OWN THE POWER COMPANIES. IT IS UP TO YOUR LOCAL UTILITIES COMPANY TO PREPARE FOR A EMP.

What is the projected death toll from this event? Short term and long term? IT IS HARD TO SAY PROJECTIONS SAY WELL INTO THE THOUSANDS IF LONG TERM.

Can a Microwave Oven be used as a Faraday Cage? I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT.

Will shooting down an ICBM cause an EMP if at target altitude? NO SIR IT WILL NOT. TAKING DOWN A ICBM CARRYING A NUCLEAR DEVICE IF TAKEN OUT BEFORE DETONATION WILL NOT CAUSE AN EMP.

With increased cyber security and offensive capabilities for Governments, how can an individual or business secure themselves? it seems everything is compromised, hardware vendors build in backdoors, and then the software on top of that, even some forms of encryption are compromised- how can you have a chain of trust when even the hardware is compromised. THE GOV'T IS WORKING ON "FOUNDRIES" HE STARTED TALKING FASTER. SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IN TRUSTED PRODUCTS BY CHIP FOUNDRIES.

What can he tell us about reports of some malware being able to jump "air gaps"? IT ALREADY DOES VIA WIFI

How big of a deal is software defined radio?

What about contingency for Nuclear Facilities in US. THIS IS A REAL CONCERN OF MINE. HOW CLOSE DO YOU THINK THE CLOSET NUCLEAR FACILITY IS TO US? IM NOT SURE! 54 MILES IN KENTUCY AS THE CROW FLYS. GOOD THING IS ITS EAST OF US.

HE IS LEAVING FOR WASHINGTON LATER THIS WEEK. WHICH I THOUGHT WAS FUNNY JUST IN TIME FOR THE NATIONAL EVENT.
