[youtube] [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] About 54 seconds in. That's just one example of the sounds they can make. There are others. When they explode it can be quite loud. |

It wasn't like any thunder I've ever heard. I live in Rosswood, near Terrace, BC. It is raining heavily but, I was quite startled as was my dog. The explosion sound went on for about 15 seconds. None since. Weird! It's a meteor. Go find it and get rich. If it's a meth lab. Go find it and get..... oh, never mind. Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

A bolide (French via Latin from the Greek βολίς bolís, "missile"[2][3]) is an extremely bright meteor, especially one that explodes in the atmosphere. In astronomy, it refers to a fireball about as bright as the full moon, and it is generally considered a synonym of a fireball. In geology, a bolide is a very large impactor. [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] I saw one about ten years ago, but wasn't close enough to hear the explosion. |
