truckers' strike April 23,24,25 to protest Mexican truck invasion
Frosty Woolridge is calling for a national
truckers' strike in April.
Rinse has the article.
I don't know if Rinse is an "accepted"
site reference on glp.

Is this reference to Mexican trucks coming in
true?
This cannot be allowed.
The highways in my area are already crowded
with trucks.

Yes it is true. It's because of NAFTA. What's supposed to start in April is a one year pilot program that allows, I believe, 100 Mexican companies to run trucks into the United States. There is a longer thread about it on this website. Search for trucks and you'll probably find it..

Well, I'm not surprise the double standards in this country is amazing.

Don't worry about China and Iran switching to Euros, when Warren Buffet did 3 months ago. They are only following your financial advisers.

Instead of picking on the illegals, how about the people who allowed the illegals into this country? Chicken.

Or even addressing the causes that force Mexicans to emmigrate in the first place? Corporatocracy (aka free-trade) maybe?

Truckers are a hardy bunch. No Mexican truck will be safe on our highways. There aren't enough armed military to ride shotgun for them. Now, that isn't to say Bush won't allow Mexican military to accompany the trucks, but if he does....

We all need to support our truckers 100%. They work long hours and are not justly compensated. IMO

Well I hope you Yanks do something about this before it's too late. Happened in Vancouver (only East Indians, not Mexicans. They undercut the O/O and took over trucking, paid unlicensced immigrants $7/hr to drive the freight, truckers lost jobs, accidents sky-rocketed, insurance did too, now we have untrained drivers (7-10 immigrants per truck) driving our highways, liquor stores are their only regular stop.

These were the same truckers that voted for Bush in 2000 and then again in 2004. Just like the people in Ohio who believed Bush would keep the factory jobs there if they voted for him, right after Dubya took office 15,000 layoffs followed in Ohio the next day. You get screwed when you make deals with the devil, serves them right.

I predict many flat tires, ruptured air lines, and contaminated fuel tanks on Mexican trucks at America's truckstops.

Glad I'm not the only who notice this. How many layoffs in Detroit 'Motor City' occurred as well? Nobody is buying American cars other than Americans, there's a massive boycott of American goods in the world if you guys haven't realized since Dubya took office. The people of the world did not approve of the invasions, therefor like any civilize person, they boycotted our goods.

This is scary, since truckers only need to park them on the highway and the entire nation will come to a crawl.

They don't need violence, sabotage, or insurgence just a nationwide shutdown and we're all screwed!

Look around you, everything you use every day of the week at home and at work is delivered via truck

hey, I wonder if this has anything to do
with the Mormons' big conference this weekend.
The word is that the usual scare stuff about
food storage and emergency planning will
be covered again, only more scary.

no trucks, no food.

this could actually happen.

Re: truckers' strike April 23,24,25 to protest Mexican truck invasion
any time there is a heavy snow storm,
the grocery stores run out quickly.
i remember a bad one, and the stores
could not get more supplies for a couple of days.
the bread truck arrived and the police had to get
into the near riot the locals had over crummy white bread.

if there is a real truckers strike,
and it goes for 3 days...
no one will get anything through,
cause no one will cross the truckers line.

no trucks for 3 days means that no
food will get through for a couple more days
after that.
it could easily run a whole week.

man, that is real trouble.

Good for them. Hopefully, they will find a way to line up on strike along our 2000 mile southern border to keep both the trucks and the nightly invasion of runners out for a few days.

Re: truckers' strike April 23,24,25 to protest Mexican truck invasion
I am a trucker by trade and have been one for many years. Soon, a genuine invasion of Mexican trucks will converge on this nation and I beleive you will see deadly violence over this as Bush has said he WILL NOT stop these trucks. If you ask me, the only way this nation will be restored is the same way it was founded: With a Bible in one hand, and a gun in the other. I beleive that we should go on strike for 30 days with a very simple code: "You Drive, You Die". When the government steps in with it's National Guard troops to escort trucks on the interstate, shoot them too, (or have you forgotten the murders of innocent Kent State students in Ohio by our NG troops?). We stay on strike to restore the Constitution and Bill of Rights and not take no for an answer. "Better to die with honor then to live with the burden of shame", (self-quote). You will never get justice in a courtroom as Cops, (Criminally Organised Police System) are officers of the court and make their living by preying upon ignorant and stupid people. If God doesen't judge Police, Legislators, Judges, and Lawyers, then he will have to appologise to the Nazis for "just doin' their job" in the slaughter of the Jews.
