We have come across at least 2 dozen cops over the last few days... their precinct 4 building was under 10 feet of water over on cypresswood drive and we have been helping out just across the road.

All of the law enforcement have been great.... no problems at all.

I have been in an overly shitty mood over the last week or so and I do not think I would have handled that cop the same way this guy did.... that was total bull shit and the fact that his house got flooded may be karma from him being an asshole before Harvey.

Now, I do not know the backstory with this guy but if all he's doing is helping people... I'm not sure what the problem would be?

That rig looked superior for handling the situation. He was probably making them look bad.

I think the problem was No vehicle ID.( registration. license plates) and no insurance.
So they are not allowed to be on the roads, flooded or not, by state law.

It is also an easier way to control looting, if the looter's vehicle can be identified by it's license plates. They would have a hard time following this vehicle through flooded area. So that would require pulling air assets off of rescues, to follow it.

If he is working independently, instead as part of a government run rescue and assistance group, that could be another problem.

The local Governments and Aid agencies, like Red Cross, only want certain types of help and mostly just money.
They really don't want independent help from regular people, because they can do what the agencies will not do and that makes the Agencies look bad to the public.
Which would cause the public to soon recognize how useless they are and quit supporting them. Then the people running them would lose their high paid jobs.
And that is all that they really care about.
