How John Kelly, a retired Marine general, reacted when Trump lashed out at him

After staff members cautioned Trump to tone down his rhetoric following a raucous campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona, last month, he reportedly lashed out at Kelly, who offered a coolheaded response.

Privately, The Times' Glenn Thrush and Maggie Haberman wrote, Kelly was incensed by Trump's bite, telling White House staff he had never been spoken to in that way during his 35 years of military service, according to three sources familiar with the talk.

The Times' sources also noted that Kelly said he would not condone the same treatment in the future.

"The best job I ever had was as a sergeant in the Marine Corps," Kelly joked during a social dinner at Trump's clubhouse in Bedminster, New Jersey, "and after one week on this job, I believe the best job I ever had is as a sergeant in the Marine Corps."

Re: An Inside View of Donald Trump
The USA is a corporation. A business.

Every successful businessman encourages honest feedback, criticism, and ideas from others.

Trump was doing this from the age of 8.

America should be honored.
America hit the jackpot when Trump won.

President Trump possess certain skills we haven't seen in the White House in a very long time, if at all.

Of course he's a brilliant salesman/statesman, and a master negotiator, and that translates to have extraordinary people skills.

Last night, some AC was whining about Trump saying the Clintons are "good people", and therefore he surely must be a fellow leftist. I pointed out to said AC that it's a matter of tact and diplomacy, and as a good businessman one would never just insult another business associate or potential associate for no good reason - if at all. It's just not done.

You never know when you're going to have a particular need which that particular individual can fill.

In other words, don't burn your bridges... even if you have multiple routes home.

Taunting them, however, is a whole other matter. Especially when a circumstance of competition arises.

Secondly, President Trump has an IQ of 160. This makes him one of the top 3-4 smartest individuals to ever grace the Oval Office.

The multi-dimensional chess isn't just a flowery compliment. It's a fact.

This is why the winning has been in essence non-stop since he has taken office. Think Sun Tzu.

Besides, DJT is my homeboy.

100% bang on. Earlier I mentioned lower class / lower IQ folks or just non-business types are unqualified to judge Trump. What you and I see as smart business doesn't even compute in their brains.

Years ago we hired a long term tenant to manage a building for us. She was good with money, trustworthy, and on the ball. She was also on the high end of low class.
Within 2 years she had half the building rented with lower class people because she failed to comprehend tell tale signs of middle class folks.

The problem she had was no different than most of Trumps critics. Most of them simply don't understand he's taking every possible measure to save the world.

Great analogy, Chris...

You hit the nail right on the head as well. It's a matter of analytical thinking as opposed to emotional reaction.

I've worked both sides of the desk, as an employee and as a manager. The thing is the 'employees' will bitch and moan about the managers, how they do so little, yet earn so much more. It's because they're unable to wrap their minds around the responsibilities that come along with a managerial position, and they're only capable of seeing it thru their own rose-colored glasses. A great deal of it is envy as well. They believe they are entitled to it.

"I've been a loyal employee at Widgit Co. for 8 years now, and I should have been promoted to that cushy managerial position so I can put my feet up and make more money doing so..."

And with that thinking, that individual will never be promoted. With that thinking, that individual is destined for a life-long career as an employee because management is well beyond their intellectual grasp.

Some people are born to lead, and some people are born to follow. True wisdom is acknowledging what you were born to do and accepting it for what it's worth.

But that would require an individual to say to themselves "this position is simply beyond my ken..." And that person
is your next manager.

What happened to the girl? Did she come around?
"Moral of the story is I chose a half measure when I should have gone all the way. I'll never make that mistake again.

Yeah, I know. It was for my own amusement to draw a troll out into the light clearly and plainly for everyone to see.

Oh well, good luck to you.

Please share an independent rational thought for us all, will you?

The 'train' is running you right over.

Here's one: You criticize, condemn, and complain, while hiding your cowardice beneath sarcasm. You have no answers, yet spew platitudes. If I'm being run over by a train, I thank God for it, because I and the nation are prospering more under Trump's train than we have in decades. Like a fullback dragging five defenseman, Trump continues a steady march toward yet another touchdown. You will have to try hard to avoid prosperity for the next 8 years, and I suspect you will. Even the Clintons had the sense to violate everything they claim to believe, in order to cash in during Reagan's revolution. But go ahead and criticize the train as it leaves you at the depot. Actually, don't.
