For the uninformed - civil asset forfeiture basically means if law enforcement "suspects" you might be involved with an illegal activity, and "suspects" you have used the income from this activity to purchase your car, home etc. they can seize whatever assets they think might have been purchased by ill gotten gain. Or if they pull you over and find a wad of cash on you and "suspect" the money is dirty they can seize it.

No warrant. No due process.

Of course you can lawyer up and pay out your ass to fight to get your own shit back - but you can imagine how easy that will be.
