BTW, the Journal also reported it had emails written by Smith showing his team considered retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, then a top adviser to Republican Donald Trump's campaign, as an ally.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69623840 So here we have a guy who is working on a secret GOP project to obtain Hillary's emails from the Russians. He was working with Flynn. Then, out of the clear blue he decided to do an interview with WSJ and start talking about the project. Smith was silenced before DoJ got hold of him for sworn depositions. He could have brought the whole Trump campaign down. Here's hoping he backed up all the stuff he had and mailed out copies to every news outlet on the planet before his untimely demise. I think the AC was saying that maybe he was offed so as not to be forced into sworn testimonies about what he knew, thus bringing down the Trump campaign.
