Hey, it's great. I am Russian as well. Nothing wrong with learning about culture. Just do not think that all Russian girls are good and pure and traditional. Nowadays it changing and they can be just as money hungry as western ones. Really the answer is a Christian traditional non feminist girl. Just be careful.

Same people who funded facebook, etc etc. and much of the "Krokodil" drugs/materialism/whoring name-brand corruption of that country comes from those same mafias. Many St. Petersburg "intellectuals" and mathematicians fled to the US when they were kicked out, and once here they took over Wall St. with their schemes.. I get it.

I'm not completely deluded that russia is some pure utopia.. One of my first girlfriends was Russian. she came to the states with her family at age 15; she was smoking hot.. will never forget her - very advanced sexually compared to the american princess-complex girls. Her dad was ex-mafia/KGB or whatever the heck, big bad ass looking cold dude.. hated my guts because he knew I was doing his daughter.. but honestly, she was the one who was the aggressor and she was pretty much showing me the ropes. Taught me a few words, like "nyet" or whatever - I have a lot to still learn :) Anyway, they fled the country to move to the US to lay low and her dad worked as a "cable guy" installing satellite dishes for suburbanites.

I taught myself with a CD Rom and book for a few weeks before going to Moscow, and once there it was good enough to get around. Unlike a lot of places the only English signs are on the big highways.
