I agree with all of this. But what you're describing is the doomsday scenario; When society unwinds to such a degree, I likely won't be saved by gold and silver alone,

This doesn't prevent me from hedging my bets against an OUTAGE doom scenario, by diversifying with PM as well,

A power or internet outage based crisis scenario is possible, sure, maybe they want a culling and send us back to the dark ages for a century to sort out.

or, maybe the technological march will continue for decades to come (transhumanisim), combined with the impending global debt crisis, resulting in some NWO hatched reset and mark of the beast and all that... and there will be no collapse, just a further deterioration of our community, offset by a digital footprint within the ever-evolving matrix machine we've been entagled with for millennia.

TLDR, crypto technology may make traditional financial institutions obsolete, i'll board this hype-train early with a very small position, lets see what happens, im going into with open eyes...

I believe that:

1) The digital currency is the future, there is no longer the possibility of getting away from it. If it will be the bitcoin or some other currency only time will tell, but the bitcoin is already coming out in the front serving as ballast for the other currencies.

2) I believe that anyone who recognizes the state as the source of most of our problems should embark on this and adhere to bitcoin. For now commercial acceptance of bitcoin is small but if people start to buy the idea a good part of the money that the corrupt ones take from us to enrich or to finance movements that have the purpose to destroy the society will be cut by the root.

3) Of course governments will not be happy about this and will try some way to bring down the digital coins or create one for their control. Only time will tell. But if bitcoin's growth and acceptance is fast enough governments will not be able to do much.

4) I do not think it wrong to buy the idea at the beginning to make more money than the others who come in afterwards, after all it is a risky business and those who take the risk should also be compensated by the risk they have. Or do you think that the guy who is at risk buying the fight against the people who control the world economic system, like SWIFT for example, should

Selling is no more difficult or complicated than selling a stock. List it with your price point. That's it.

Coinbase is excellent. But if you are in Hawaii or Wyoming, you can't buy or sell cryptos so Coinbase won't do business with you.

I dumped all of our small coins into Doge a couple of years ago. We bought most of the 2 million of them at .0001, bought at the lowest dips. It's a long hold for as long as we can. If and when BTC reaches the peak expected in 2018, then we'll consider selling. It'll buy a house and then some.

If you are that concerned, put your coins in a paper wallet. Always make a paper copy of your addresses and private keys if you keep a wallet on your computer, and make at least two backups on flash drives. Don't leave your coins on an exchange.

IOTA uses hyperledger. XRP uses blockchain and interledger. I think blockchain is essential to prevent data corruption or alterations

Search up bitcoin atm. Find a local spot.

I have invested in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Siacoin, Ripple and Stratis and have done pretty well with the recent runups.

However one of the things that bothers me about any of these coins long term is the lack of protection for their technologies. Since this is an unregulated industry what's to stop someone for say copying a leading coin like Ethereum or IOTA once it becomes popular and just issuing their own similar coin that has the latest technology as whatever is hot at the time.

Normally in commerce when you invent something you can protect it through copyright or trademark. I don't belive this applies to crypto currencies or blockchain coins...at least not yet. Therefore any new improvement or new technology on any coin can be instantly copied to another with little to know penalty. I see this as a big problem since the unique capabilities of some of these coins is precisely what traders are giving value to.
