It should be noted that for us who buy our water in stores due to bad tap water, make sure your water isn't coming from one of the states or areas listed. Earth2.0 is out of Oregon, no flouride. Previously I know Safeway's refreshe brand was flouride free, but being from California might switch back to the slightly more expensive Earth2.0.

Yikes...that's a little disturbing:

[link to www.rt.com (secure)]

From California to Flint, Michigan and New Jersey, harmful toxic chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water supplies of multiple US states and in the tap water of 15 million people, according to a new study.
The perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in question come from everyday products including cookware, outdoor clothing, food packaging and firefighting foam, and were detected in record high levels in the water supply in 27 states.

"It's a much larger number than we thought before," said Bill Walker, managing editor of Environmental Working Group who joined with Northeastern University in Boston to conduct the research.

The team's findings came from analysis of federal drinking water data and publicly documented legal cases of toxin pollution and documented in an interactive map.....

(I posted the first couple of paragraphs. Click the link for more.)

Thankfully we live in an old mining town in MT...the
arsenic from the mines is weighing down all those toxic
chemicals...so we are just fine.

Thank you for the info! There is no telling how many people have gotten cancer due to their cookware - or to other people's cookware as your link points out!

I use glass cookware. The danger with it is that it can explode under high pressure particularly as it gets old as the glass weakens. That's why you can't find it in stores anymore. So when the lids are on, I use as low a flame as possible and wear a suit of armor. ;-)

How is that you moron Aussie? We have agencies to discover these things and deal with the problem. That's the point of these studies and measurements.

Meanwhile your shithole of a country doesn't do anything. If you bothered to look into it more, a lot of the agencies have started working on dealing with the issue.

Meanwhile, the US continues to still have the top best drinking water sources in the world. While the rest of the vast majority of the world has extremely polluted water that's not even measured and the people drinking it doesn't even know or think it's bad. That's what separates a 1st world country from a 3rd would shit hole.

Yes they can explode, I had an anchor hocking pan explode one day right after I took it out of the oven, and placed it on top of the stove to cool. Ever since then I have been careful and only buy Pyrex and I still am very careful when I place it on top of the stove after taking it out of the oven. I don't need to get burned or cut again.

What's the best type of cookware to use if you want it to be at least somewhat non-stick? Or is that a No Go?

What should we be buying then, instead?

Recommendations?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75053418

Stainless can be non stick if you use it correctly. Browns up much nicer to
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24888166

Stainless steel is always non stick if you know how to follow the proper procedure.

Heat the pan then add oil and heat the oil...then begin cooking.

Pretty simple.
"The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive. ... Our own fight for the West does not begin on the battlefield — it begins with our minds, our wills, and our souls... Americans, Poles, and the nations of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty. We must work together to counter forces, whether they come from inside or out, from the South or the East, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are. I am here today not just to visit an old ally, but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilization." ~President Donald J Trump

Report made it to Circa News.

15 million Americans are drinking contaminated water, a new report finds

The water you're drinking could be contaminated.

According to a new joint report by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Northeastern University, drinking water for 15 million Americans in 27 states is contaminated with toxic chemicals.

The chemicals in question -- known as PFCs, or perfluorochemicals -- are used to make nonstick cookware, according to Time.

So many have missed the point. It's not only about the cookware you choose. It's about the chemical used in the process of making these products.

It's this chemical in the water, in the environment, in so many items, you cannot escape it and it's already in you and will be in your unborn children, even if your water supply is not contaminated yet.

It's not safe to cook, bathe, wash clothes, etc. with this water if there is contamination from this chemical.

People said, oh it's all downstream, it won't affect us. Then it was found, upstream. It's found tens of miles away from the rivers it's dumped in, east, west, north, south.

I just have to wonder, is it in the air too? Is it released as contaminated water evaporates? Is it in the rain?

Think of all those products in landfills now.

Your cheeseburger didn't stick to it's wrapper, but you also ate the chemicals that made that possible.

There is no safe water anymore.

I put spring water in a glass jug. The jug has shungite stones in it. Shungite molecules are in the shape of Buckeyballs and have healing properties. My hope is that the shungite structure captures the petrochemicals in the water.

Does it do that? I've heard it does. IDK for sure.

The jug is also placed on top of a card that emits 1,700 negative ions per cubic centimeter. This changes the water into a hexagonal molecule which is the optimal structure for water. Shungite might also do the same thing.

In any case the water feels smoother or slicker. That is to say the water feels less resistant going down when drinking it.

Without these things, I have a hard time downing six ounces of water. But with them, I can drink 8-10 ounces easily.

My question is, if you distill your own water, will that distilled water have the chemical in it? Is there any way to get that chemical safely out of your water at home?

(not that it matters much since it's everywhere, but you can at least reduce how much you intake.)
