18 Penn State Beta Theta Pi Fraternity Members Charged In Hazing Death of Timothy Piazza

Eight frat brothers at Beta Theta Pi and the fraternity are accused of involuntary manslaughter.

The other charges range from evidence tampering to furnishing alcohol to minors.

Penn State permanently banned Beta Theta Pi on March 30, accusing it of a 'persistent pattern' of excessive drinking, drug use and hazing.

Authorities found that 12 hours had passed before fraternity members called 911 after Piazza fell down the stairs.

Sad how some people will allow peer pressure to over rule their own common sense.

Sadly these kids have no idea how bad binge drinking is.

Piazza, 19, of Lebanon, New Jersey, died ‪February 4, two days after he was injured while pledging the fraternity.

The cause of death was a traumatic brain injury, resulting from several falls after a night of heavy drinking, including one fall down a set of basement stairs, a county grand jury investigation found.

A forensic pathologist calculated that Piazza had a life-threatening blood alcohol level content on the night he was hurt.

I went through the frat thing and COMMON SENSE and INTELLIGENCE should (and would) always rule....no matter WHAT they try to make you do.

Exactly, unfortunately if common sense was common......

When my kids went off to college I was very nervous.....

So many high school kids are treated with alcohol poisoning here, it just blows my mind and their parents laugh about it, they live vicariously through their kids.

Some of the parents are kids themselves.

If it was Penn State I'm surprised that they didn't pretend that Piazza was a little boy and rape him too!

Can only imagine what they do to pledges......

If he got help sooner he might be alive.

alcohol is poison.

This is so sad, so many times he could have been helped.

Timmy Pizza was a problem from day one.

What was wrong with them that no one called 911? Were they all drunk out of their mind or was this intentional?

Reading that time-line was horrible. He fell so much and the clutching of his abdomen with blood accumulated around his face. Animals.

Good point, I find it hard to believe not one person there was studying medical field.

The one guy that was trying to get them to call 911 was rebuffed.

I imagine that video is horrific watching him slowly die...

It's heart wrenching as a parent to imagine your child going through that.

Why aren't these organizations BANNED FROM CAMPI?
