United Airlines reaches settlement with Dr. David Dao for undisclosed amount after he was left bloodied and bruised from being dragged off flight
[snip]

-Dr. David Dao received a settlement from United Airlines it was announced on Thursday after being dragged off a flight in Chicago on April 9

-The amount Dr. Dao is receiving from the airline is not being disclosed and will remain confidential per details of the settlement agreement

-Dr. Dao, 69, has yet to give his own firsthand account of what happened and likely never will, having no doubt signed a non-disclosure agreement

-He broke his nose, lost two teeth and suffered a 'severe concussion' when he was dragged off a flight by a Chicago police officer

-The incident was captured in videos and photos taken by fellow passengers, that show Dao being manhandled by authorities and with blood covering his face

-'That first response was insensitive beyond belief. It did not represent how I felt,' said United CEO Oscar Munoz, who unveiled company changes on Thursday

I have a fucked up ability @ guessing financial outcomes. My wife gets blown away at my accuracy.

I'm going to guess $275,000.00 just to shut the good Doctor up.

That was quick. I'd guess $300,000 plus lifetime flying business class. He'll be flying again and again with UA.

Wow that was fast. Usually you have to wait up to a year to document the "permanent" injuries.
All characters and events in this forum --even those based on real people-- are entirely fictional. All celebrity comments are impersonated...poorly. The above post contains coarse language and due to the content it should not be viewed by anyone.

There's a video with him saying they will have to drag him off the plane. In the same video, he tells someone on the phone to get ready to sue United. This is BEFORE he was removed from his seat. The video was taken by someone sitting directly behind him on the plane.

That's probably why he settled. He planned to have security drag him off and told them to do so. Besides, they didn't beat him up as the media says. I'll also bet his "injuries" were not what the media reported. The hospital HAS to reveal the truth.

United sent out a mea-culpa email today to their "valued" customers.

They said they increased the bribe for voluntary rebooking up to $10,000 and give you a golden shower of frequent flyer miles to boot.

Re: United Airlines reaches settlement with Dr. David Dao for undisclosed amount after he was left bloodied and bruised from being dragged off flight
This is why the liberal media are against the US Airlines and are going out of their way to print everything negative. They're rooting for the Middle East. What else is new?

"Over the past decade, Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar have moved into the US market, ready to compete and compete aggressively with large fleets of new, lavishly appointed jets and award-winning service. But the US legacy carriers believe that competition with the Middle Eastern carriers has become inherently unbalanced."
[link to www.businessinsider.com]

"Yet the three U.S. airlines are furious. They get angry enough when Emirates — and its two main Gulf competitors Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways — launch new nonstops from the Middle East to the United States. But this is different. For the second time, Emirates will be flying a nonstop route from Europe to the United States."

On the Mark Levin show yesterday he said the settlement was for 10 million dollars. Don't know how he found out.

A good attorney, and his is, will take 40%. That's a nice amount to enjoy retirement with.

Interesting! Thanks. See my above post. Why is the media reporting everything negative about the US Airlines?

Because the Arabs want to put them out of business. They want to take over all US domestic flights!

Republic Airways is the airline that was responsible for the incident. They have their own CEO, employees, gate agents, pilots, flight attendants, supervisors, managers, etc.

I wonder how much they contributed to the settlement.

I recently read that United is planning to get rid of these regional carriers if possible. I hope so. Their employees do nothing but screw up things.
