I'm guessing it is military doing stuff even if they won't admit it. lol.. Yes, please do keep us posted if you do. Waiting to hopefully watch the Trident missile launch later. I'm going to heat the jacuzzi for midnight, but pfft, it'll probably happen closer to 6am.. We'll see :) Will have a perfect view if they launch it between 12 and 3 (before I turn into a completely wrinkled fish lol) |

That would make a booming sound as well as even shake your residence as most bases destroy their ammunition underground. Quoting: Chosen1too Could also be tectonic in nature...earthquake coming? Not sure, but I think that would be more like the sounds of when they are training with munitions. These honestly seem more like sonic booms over the ocean I bet. <snip from article I posted earlier> MCAS Miramar Capt. Kurt Stahl said they reviewed all tapes with the FAA and was confident that it wasn't caused by their aircraft. "We reviewed all tapes with the FAA and with our fixed-wing squadrons aboard MCAS Miramar, and we can confirm that no aircraft from MCAS Miramar reached supersonic speeds yesterday. Therefore, we can rule out that this noise was caused by an aircraft based out of MCAS Miramar. For additional background, we do not operate our aircraft at supersonic speeds within 30 miles of populated areas. As for those reported today, this is the first I have heard of any today; I am confident that they are not being caused by our aircraft." yeah yeah.. wink wink nod nod.. |

The hotdogs would bank hard left after wheels up and kickon AB's, just over the west end of Point Loma Naval Base. You are born with the truth, then taught a lie. |

Quoting: Crazy Harriet Might turn out to be some sort of minor quake. We feel them as booms here, too. Also check hanging objects. Sonic booms don't make the hummingbird feeders or whatever swing like pendulums. Very interesting... especially if it's something else. Big military installation there, if you know someone, see if they're doing training exercises. There's been a storm of mini quakes encircling San Diego over the last 24 hours. Most of them have been north of downtown. |

That was first thing I checked. Tangy, my Weather Underground Storm app shows lots of small quakes around S.D. over the last 24 hours. Many of them have occurred in the last 7-12 hours. Do you have a minimum setting on your earthquake site that may not be showing these small ones? And on an unrelated topic; You impressed the hell out of me with your knowledge on that 8992 thread today! I have to admit that I stereotyped you a little because of your beauty. I'm sorry for that. Last night at about 6pm and until I fell off at 10pm, was noticeably high amount of afterburners going off, FWIW. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9284904 Good observation. There's a big exercise going on at 29 Palms this week. Expect increased traffic through Saturday. The marines were shooting their big guns today and so was the navy off of San Clemente island. |

I didn't try and see if it was any of the little faults all around here. I just chalked it up to our typical mysterious booms. Sounds like a lot of military exercises are going on everywhere.
