Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Portland oregon building might collapse PORTLAND, Ore. – The Fifth Avenue Building in downtown Portland was evacuated Tuesday over the possibility that it could collapse, Portland Fire & rescue officials said. Witnesses tell KATU News that the siding started to detach from the structure located at SW 5th Avenue and Clay Street. The buckled siding is on the fourth floor along the elevator shaft. A Portland Fire & Rescue technical team was called out to assess the situation. The office building at 1400 SW Fifth Avenue houses a KinderCare, FedEx Office, 24-Hour Fitness and other businesses. TriMet has closed MAX stations on 5th and 6th Avenues because of the emergency response. This is a developing story; updates will be posted as information comes in. story_gallery [ link to katu.com] |

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Portland oregon building might collapse The downtown ground is weak. I'm surprised more of these buildings haven't seen more structural damage, despite the reports of this not being the case. This particular one houses a KinderCare, eBay and OHSU offices, FedEx, and 24 Hour Fitness. "Stupidity is not a reason that you're going to be innocent."
