Does the US have a functioning missile defense alarm system to alert the public? Unfortunately I'm working a job in LA at the moment, but I have built a very small bug out shelter in the basement using loads of sandbags. However, unless I stay up all night watching this page, how would I know of an attack? Be it from a sub or from land.

You are correct. China has intentionally kept the two Koreas from having a chance at unification for decades. They didn't want the chance of a unified Korea as it could challenge it economically, politically, and with the prospects that if it were West friendly, then China could end up with Western military bases on its border.

Don't trust China for a second. Look at their claims of most all of the South China Sea.

Don't forget that it was a mere few years after the US defended it against Japan in WW2 that we were repaid with waves of Chinese troops firing on American soldiers during the Korean War.

The Chinese people are good people, but China's Communist Govt can never be fully trusted.....
