The Bible is most definitely not merely a "collection of stories".

FYI, There is a lot of info in the New Testament, Old Testament, and Talmud that 100% of EVERYONE completely ignores even if they believe other parts of what is said. We live in very different times from when these great books were written.

Therefore the laws and advice would not make any sense and are often in fact illegal. Much time is spent discussing the interpretation of all that is said.

For example it is not allowable in the US to have multiple wives. We do not live in a society where a woman could not live alone or only with other females. There is not an extreme shortage of men due to constant warfare. So a man is not required to marry his deceased brother's widow even if he is already married. Again it would be illegal.

So please do not continue to believe that everything in the New Testament, Old Testament and the Talmud must be obeyed exactly as written.
