Quit Weed. some musings.
Smoked in my 20's. Quit in my 30's (to focus on career). Picked the habit back up in my 40's. Cause old age is boring and the old people are insane. Now i have to quit cause I want to change jobs. Which means drug test. I hate my current job. Part of the reason why I want to get stoned all the time.

Anyway. Day 4. The dreams are insane but I'm enjoying them. I definitely feel better rested on the same amount of sleep. I feel a bit less mood swingy. Lost my sex drive because weed and fapping go hand in hand. Kinda sucks not having it to look forward to.

I think Ill always smoke. But probably try to stay off the everyday plan. Its much more enjoyable in moderation. Not sure how I creeped back to every day. Obtaining it sucks. Nothings ever changed there. You still have to be 'friends' with your weed dealer cause they always seems to be insecure about you using them as a hookup. That's never changed in 20 years. Which is funny because they always seem cool with the 100% markup, but you're using them, Ok. It's just unnecessary drama.

Also i noticed when im on weed sound is more vibrant, but when i quit, color is more vibrant. strange.

Moderation is the key, indeed.

There were times when I completely quit for years but I found that not smoking at all makes me dumb AF.

When I smoke one after a while, my brain somehow resets.

Drugs are everywhere. Everyday I see business owners addicted to money. I see female managers addicted to power. I see old relatives addicted to church. Some people are addicted to repetition, fat, sugar, artifical sweetners, pills, internet forums. That doesn't justify any of my own vices. But the vices are wide and deep and everywhere.

You know its funny. When I was a young 20 something stoner I swear I was high all the time, talked like a stoner, etc. It feels like i metabolize differently now. I can smoke now and a few hours later feel like I didn't. Go a day or two and its like I never did. Strange. Which is weird because weed is so much better quality now. Dirt weed is like extinct it seems. good.

Drugs like pot should be used as a sacrament. I've had shrooms, lsd, etc., but pot was the most useful for meditation and creativity. I also quit in case I had a drug test to get a job. Never had one! But, I also started to get what I called, "the dreads"; a paranoia feeling that just didn't go away. I think it was "Nature's Way" of telling me...something's wrong. So, I quit. About ready to start up again, as I substituted alcohol for pot. I REALLY want to quit drinking.

I quit also. Don't judge people that do, it's legal here in Washington state, but just because it's legal doesn't mean it's good for me or my family. Just want to raise my personal bar. 18 days now. I'm in a 12 step program I have an addictive
Personality. I'm 47 about time I grow up and give my wife and
Kids 100% of the best I can be.

I hear that. I think its all a series of substitutions. Funny you mention creativity because Im also a professional filmmaker. For me, there's a very small place in the creative process for weed. May be as a broad brainstorming tool. But overall I never saw any benefit. I only shoot one thing high and its probably the worst thing i ever shot. But it could of been horrible anyway because the director planned some insane amount of setups in a single day. I think it was like 30-40+ setups. I've been in on jobs where I've been given 2 hours to light a setup. Which is insanely long. But when I saw that i realized Im basically going to have enough time to point the camera and shoot. period. I went and got high because it was going to be creatively pointless.

To quit drinking:

Use Kava instead. CO2 extracts are my favorite as they don't upset your stomach.

Work up to high dose Niacin. You want the kind that causes flushing. It's super cheap. Start with about 30mg 3 times a day and then go up 20mg per day until you are in the 200mg range. Then jump to 500, 600, then 1000 when you are ready.

There is also Phenibut which is just GABA with a phenyl ring attached to it to ensure crossing of the blood brain barrier. It can be addictive, so it's recommended to take no more than 2 times a week. But if you get an alcohol craving, this stuff will help you get through it. It's one of the best anti-anxiety medications out there.

going on a ketogenic diet makes you piss clear in about two weeks depending on your BMI and smoking frequence.

Daily habit is not a good idea unless you are treating a sickness/problem.

Weed is not a big deal, if you enjoy it and its not a problem for you, go for it once in a while, same with cheeseburgers ;)

You have good sense of balance. At my work there are two types of people. Those that would scoff at you for ever eating a cheeseburger, like its the worst thing ever. And those that eat them everyday and are fat. In my experience I prefer to get a crap burger every now and then. This world and these bodies love variety.

Smoked pot from 2006-2012 every day.

Quit pot and all drugs including alcohol from April 15 2012 to last year.

5 years sobriety nearly.

Relapsed on pot last November. Been smoking quit a bit. I love it, but I hate how demotivating it is. I need a good sativa strain I guess because I hate how tired I get from smoking.

It is a nice tool for spirituality and mental growth, and even recreational use, and even for medicine.

I don't see how it's illegal.

Yet I see how it can affect someone's life in a negative way.

I think someone hit the nail on the head earlier, moderation is key.

God created everything that is, marijuana included. To me, the high from cannabis seems like it comes from intelligent design rather than a bunch of random chemicals that cause me to feel a certain way.

I gain spiritual memories back, I can use my faith in different ways.

Cannabis is like manna, it's a spiritual food. It can be abused, but obviously shouldn't.

Not everone enjoys it.

Those who do enjoy it are generally nonviolent.

Legalize it and regulate it moderately.

It's possible God will allow Marijuana in the Millennial Reign or in the New Earth. Not sure if it will be in the New Heaven or New Jerusalem.

We're gonna be on permanent vacation, retirement, party, celebration mode in the name of the Living God. Maybe God created marijuana for a reason, maybe he's cool with humans smoking it.

I had an NDE type event that really put this place into perspective. Over there is completely different reality that has nothing to do with this one. When i hear people talk about bodies and 3 dimensional tasks, it makes me scoff. Let me just say there's a very good chance we are each a fragment of a much more perfect being and chose to come here to be scared and fearful. I don't know why. I was not me there. And it hurt to come back here and become me again. It was actually the worst memory I can think of, and I grew up in an abusive home. Seriously for like week after this place reminded me of a fake movie set.

Re: Quit Weed. some musings.
I actually get something out of it.

I think a lot of people that quit , just like cigarette smokers, have to hate and resent everything about it in order to quit. Because they can't find another reason to quit. So you see all these "ex-smokers" get pretty harsh.

Personally, I love it. I don't understand how people do it all day everyday though. That's not for me.

But it's a great vice for relaxation and something that helps you see things differently which can be beneficial.

A huge reason for me is as a sound/mix engineer, it causes me to hear things that I would never hear with a sober ear. It is truly amazing.

I smoked for 5 years every single day. Quit no problem. It's not hard. Only if you're weak minded. it's not like getting hooked on pills from what I've seen from other people. They just cant quit pills unless they go to rehab or jail lol.
