Those are Quaker Parrots. They live wild here in Northwest Indiana, too.

Yeah, you will be surprised at what can live here in our country that is not indigenous to our country.

Most of the animals are set free or escape from their owners or captors.All kinds of critters who were brought here illegally or just came on their own.

They infest every major city in the US and have even spread to rural areas.

If that is the standard of the electrical grid in the USA, you are in for trouble.

They were accidentally released from Kennedy apt. Ion the late 60's. Somehow they have adapted and thrived in this environment. I see their nests all the time on the south shore.

They are also all up and down the Connecticut coast -- Milford, Stratford, Fairfield, Stamford, Greenwich...

The other theory is a truck accident on I95. They were first seen by a university ornithologist in 1971.
