Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73803211 My favorite book on the subject so far is 'I Am That' by Nisargadatta Maharaj What book were you recommending? Your link does not work. Yes. 'I Am That'. One of my favorites also. Thanks for letting me know the book link is broke. The book I'm referring to here is: 'The Essence of Enlightenment: Vedanta, The Science of Consciousness' by James Swartz. Another excellent resource that i'm going through now is explorevedanta.com Blessings |

It is not an idea manifested into reality. It essentially is a realization of reality. Chop wood, carry water. Once joy and the realization of harmony is experienced, is there more, or do we look for it again? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73487321 Look for nothing. Less is more. Chop wood, carry water. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73487321 Once the idea is manifested into reality, what is the next step? Once joy and the realization of harmony is experienced, is there more, or do we look for it again? You can change your reality with thoughts, beliefs and feelings. But you re still stucked in this false reality. The next step is to leave the matrix. Melatonin is the biggest secret (from the word secretion). Use to wake your pineale gland All this world is a mirror of our innerself. It s a fucking game. A script. We just see the humankind show and we can manage it. But when you know the truth it s boring. We have to escape to go back home. Last Edited by ThePassenger on 02/17/2017 05:27 AM A.I.B.I.A. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73487321 Once the idea is manifested into reality, what is the next step? Once joy and the realization of harmony is experienced, is there more, or do we look for it again? Good question. My understanding is that bliss is not actually achieved. It's always there all the time but the clouds of desires and aversions temporarily obscure it. The experience of joy and harmony usually comes and goes in the process of our gaining more and more confidence in the fact that the happiness of the eternal non-dual Self is the only true reality and that the temporary impermanent reality of this world is not. |

Beautiful. I would only add that there is no intrinsically existing 'me' or 'you' that can 'achieve' bliss. Bliss or Awareness (with a capital A) is the true nature of reality = non-duality = Oneness = the Self. Awareness (aka: non duality, aka: Self) always IS. When we realize that that's the case, the dualistic or magtrix world we live in no longer seems so alluring. When the two are seen side by side, it's easy to see which one offers unlimited happiness. |

(OP) General Discussion User ID: 69449127 United States 02/17/2017 09:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not a question of leaving this world. It's a question of seeing through it. Seeing through the veil. Seeing through the matrix. Seeing through the shifting sands of time. To see through the shifting sands, ask yourself: What is it that never changes? The answer is: the background awareness that's always been there my whole life. The awareness that's been quietly watching my life unfold for as long as I can remember. |

So there is no room or need or desire for God in this new Awareness of which you speak? From whence does the Matrix, Awareness, or Bliss originate? Was there never a spark to infuse the original Awareness into our souls? Did we simply forget or lose touch with this reality of which you speak? Why in all our cleverness and engrained ability to achieve this higher and vastly more important realm, did we lose ourselves and our abilities along the way? Even taking into account the many and continuous efforts to mask Awareness from Western cultures, it seems to me this engrained Awareness would have manifested to the masses more readily and long ago. Would my Awareness be different than yours? If so, how can much be achieved collectively, or were we ever intended to pursue collective goals? |

Quoting: davidnv Rupert Spira Excellent thread. I had an intense flash the other night that the whole truth was contained in the simple statement of "when you pay attention to yourself." Right there you have the knower [you], the knowing [attention] and the known [yourself] all in one because it is awareness that is being aware of awareness. Of course, most folks think that paying attention to themselves means paying attention to this or that about themselves, but that is a misconception. I am is the truth. I am this or that is not the truth. Nisargadatta bring such clarity to this, as does Ramana. So nice to see something on advaita. Thanks for posting this thread. |
