Troll boy thinks they can run 100,000 CFS down that Kiewit shoot for hours and hours on end...even days.

I would absolute hate for them to have put themselves in position to have to prove that they can do that. But, alas, they very well may have.

Is there any indication Almanor is going to break or have you joined the unfounded paranoid delusion club?

About five days using just the spillway alone would bring Oroville down enough to catch Almanor. Probably three and a half if they run full bore at every outlet.

I'm not defending DWR. You asked for the math and there it is. It made you look stupid and you should've run the numbers yourself before you asked. Then again, you picked one of the lowest paying, hardest working trades there are so you clearly aren't super smart. How much did you give the Snap On guy this month?

Here is a website to convert cfs per day to acre feet.

[link to www.convertunits.com (secure)]

Keep in mind Almanor has well over a million acre feet.

At one day of 20,000 cfs, which is more than they usually run it, we get to about 40,000 acre feet.

At 100,000 cfs we get to almost 200,000 acre feet in a day.
So maybe 6 days to handle Almanor at 100,000 cfs.

Would we have six days to catch Almanor's water? I've seen videos of dams breaking and they empty out in hours, not even one day. But let's be nice to your ego and say you have a whole day to spill Oroville after Almanor breaks.

So, what cfs do we need to get to over a million acre feet in one day? See that site linked. Easy to punch in numbers.

We need to run the spillway at 510,000 cfs to dump a million acre feet. However, the spillway was built for 270,000 cfs max. So they say. That takes almost 2 days to spill a million acre feet plus from Almanor.

Who thinks the spillway can handle 270,000 cfs? Do I hear half of that? Who thinks it can handle 100,000 cfs? 75,000? Lol, you have to be kidding me. The thing is already vibrating and cavitating. I would not bet on 40,000 cfs.

Troll, you are ignorant and too lazy to do a quick search to bring up the facts. Go away and look up Folsom dam handling the breaking of Auburn dam, and how Folsom was ready to absorb it, and read about how proper safety to protect people is done ( hint, Folsom is not run by DWR but by the USA Bureau of Reclamation).

Almanor sits on a NEW ACTIVE FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plumas County earthquakes reveal new, active faults under Lake Almanor

Are you from DWR, troll? Or from Satan? I can't decide. Whatever excuse you had up until now to fill a leaky dam on a leaky hillside, all those excuses vanish entirely in the light of this new 2023 knowledge that Almanor sits on an active fault.

It's no wonder Crunch needs a breather from this place. The demons seem to have a real thing to go after Crunch, because he knows the sordid history of all the years of lies and corruption and risky management and he wont back down from their constant haggling.

Personally Geo, I think you are guilty of enabling murder if you let these liars keep up with their constant attack on those who warn about the dangers. New people could get on and read here. I think these fairy tale ACs should be banned.

Anyone think that they may possibly be wanting it to overflow to test the emergency spillway? There is no other reason for them to purposely letting it get that high.

There are reasons that they are doing it beyond their control. Like the gates are somehow all inoperable or my bet is they discovered the main spillway was defective and running too much over it was going to cause it to come apart at the seams.

Then there is always the greed of every inch of water they can hold back is an inch they can sell later on in the year.

Visible gate/spillway problems prohibiting anything more than minimal releases without the cover of darkness might explain this full pool situation. Now they have to test the "improved" ES?

I sent Crunch a PM apologizing. He hasn't opened it. Sorry if everyone thinks I ran him off! That's a little harsh!

At least ACs are blocked now, and the harassment has ended!

I pinned this.

You are a truly great poster here. I can't imagine anybody thinking you are responsible for the fact he got fed up.

Give it time, his beloved wife has a serious diagnosis and no doubt a lot of treatment ahead. Please keep them in prayer for healing and financial provision.

Wondering what tomorrow will bring with O Dam. I never thought they'd run it up so high.

Thank you!

It is crazy! I think it's more than greed! WEF blackmail everywhere.

And Caps, I have an upgraded account loaded and ready for you!

I heard from Crunch. He accepted my apology. I think he'll be back now that ACS are blocked. Yay!

It's possible they didn't intend to.

A gamble between drought returning and run-off levels which are not simply measured out per calendar/snow melt.

Keeping it close to the top makes sense. They can always release at a higher volume..yes?
