Yeah. I don't know where they are fabricating that water from. Lake Almanor is the only sizeable reservoir upstream, but it isn't dropping much.

I wonder if the whole thing is just smoke and mirrors BS. I mean, how would WE know what the actual elevation is?

I don't know where they are getting that water from.

It is dry as a popcorn fart down here in the valley. But, it is now October, the winds are dry but there is rain on the horizon.

There could be rain from the Gods, or we could be screwed for another year. If the rainfall is lush, watch that dam. A quick fill could be a disaster. But CA DWR is already counting the money from next year.

As Crunch remembers well, but many here may have forgotten, the (imo) best visionary view of the problems for the dam/dike of Oroville would come about when the lake was near full AND some sudden surge of water hit it.

The cause? Got as dart board?

The dam/dike at Lake Almanor failing and that lake's water suddenly surging down the Feather River? Maybe the result of an earthquake hitting Lake Almanor and causing a dam/dike failure? (Crunch has mentioned a number of times about the EQ's that have happened up there RIGHT UNDER the Dam/Dike in the past).

Anyway, sorry to see the ongoing drought situation out there and Crunch is right, a quick refill of Oroville would NOT be good for the clay interior of the dam/dike complex.
