Whatever the OP needs to put out there or publish in order to feel better about their own personal failings... It's perfectly understandable to seek that self assurance by blaming something external and over generalizing the claimed state of affairs. Very common to do so.

I live at the beach on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and get to know a lot of the college kids that are here for the summer. It is no big deal for these college kids to have had 40 or 50 different sexual partners by the age of 22 or so. A lot has changed here in the past 20 summers. Mostly in the last 15 or so.

Hell, I have known quite a few of the summer guys and girls that are popular who have had 25 - 30 different partners in one summer.

Herpes is "no big deal" to these kids today. "Everyone has it" is what they will tell you with a shrug. If you have children or grand kids that are in college, and these kids are sexually active...

Courting led to less divorce. People who courted sought out social events to have a good time. It was about life in general. Sex as prime directive brings humanity back to caveman days.
