That's half of it

 Quoting: beebee

The other half is that TOO MUCH of certain minerals is the root of all disease. For example, too much iron, look into how this causes diabetes.

It's why I tell most people to go to a sight like cronometer and plan out a few daily meal plans to get all of their nutrients from food and it also tell you if you are getting to much of a nutrient. Of course that too is only part of the problem, exercise, stress and rest play a big factor as well. But changing your diet is a very good start.

I don't like my answer but...

It's basically demons/spirits, witchcraft, and consolation (reincarnation/resurrection). Combination of all of the above.

Like I said I don't like my answer but it is what it is. That's why you can heal people if you give them the Holy Spirit because illness is spiritual in nature.

I have drank distilled water for the last 15 years and don't bother with supplements and eat whatever I want.

Unless you have a birth defect, your body takes care of you on very basic food intake.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69784354

Iron overload is a disorder which makes the body absorb excessive amounts of iron from the food and drink we consume. The iron overload gives the skin a bronze color, as well as damaging the liver and other organs. Commonly, if it is allowed to progress, the pancreas becomes damaged and the patient develops diabetes.

Iron overload disorder can be either:

Passed on genetically; this is known as primary hemochromatosis, hereditary hemochromatosis, or classic hemochromatosis.

The result of some condition, such as chronic liver disease, that causes the body to absorb excessive amounts of iron. This is known as secondary hemochromatosis.

It sounds to me as though this is not a common ailment.
 Quoting: beebee

So close.

Dr Wallach has dispelled the genetic disease transmission theory. The diabetes chromium thing is chromium vanadium and 23 trace minerals (plant derived of course)

Re: The lack of minerals is the root of all disease
I think it's closer to the opposite, the root of all the disease is actually the BUILD UP of unsaturated fats, minerals like iron, which are toxic to the body and take years of a strict diet to purge from the body. In other words, I think the root of all disease is too much of certain toxic elements than it is a lack of minerals.

Yes I do think there are minerals that are helpful, but the lack of minerals is not as big a deal as the buildup up toxins. For example, once you get your body metabolically healthy, with a powerful thyroid that is uninhibited by unsaturated fats, your body doesn't need as many minerals and nutrients because it becomes more efficient.

Like another poster said, there's not another animal on earth that is so dependent on their 3 to 4 meals a day, or else they starve. Most animals can go days to weeks without going hungry, because their bodies aren't being metabolically devastated by cooking food with unsaturated fats, which prevent oxygen from getting to the cells to power them.

Now, let's look at another COMMON dis-ease - heart dis-ease.

A decade-long study that reviewed cardiovascular disease research extending over more than 70 years found low magnesium levels contributed more to heart disease than did cholesterol or even saturated fat.

[link to www.todaysgeriatricmedicine.com]
 Quoting: beebee

Look up the very simple recipe for magnesium oil. While it is called oil, it isn't. Simple to make at home. Spritz on your body and let your skin soak it in.

Or take magnesium citrate. It is easier on the gut than regular magnesium.

Some docs will give magnesium ivs to migrainuers. But they have to watch the heart activity closely while doing so.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69943055

I use magnesium chloride (oil) - add it to drinking water.

And what about Type 1 diabetes?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73613959

The causes of type 1 diabetes are unknown, although several risk factors have been identified. The risk of developing type 1 diabetes is increased by certain variants of the HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1, and HLA-DRB1 genes. These genes provide instructions for making proteins that play a critical role in the immune system.

 Quoting: Arkansassy

you can buy trace minerals to put in your water, i do it everyday

the other thing about trace minerals is if you are depleted you can never get fully hydrated, which is a really big problem.

You can also make sole (so lay) and add it to your drinking water.

That's a very foolish statement. Firstly, they are unable to do so. Duhhhhh!!

Secondly, as a cattle producer I know full well if animals do not get salt and mineral supplements you have little chance of having a healthy herd and a proper calving rate. Selenium is extremely important.

I disagree. I believe spiritual illness is the root of all disease.

As above, so below. The body and brain is a manifestation of one's spiritual state. Humanity is spiritually deficient, leading to illness.

And of course, there may be negative entities feeding on us and making us ill.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71550626

That may be. However, the demiurge also created a world of suffering FOR HIS BENEFIT!!! We can ease a lot of our own suffering by taking care of our body's needs.

Roundup is now found in our rainwater!!! It's everywhere. Farmers use it on almost everything (pre-harvest), and especially for GMO crops. Yet, there are some people (right in this thread) who seriously believe we can get all our vitamin and mineral needs from our food. That was true not all that long ago, but not today.

Yup, that they do. They love eating farmers grain and alfalfa - both are not their "naturally intended diet!" They will come into the pastures and use farmers' salt and mineral licks too if they can get at them. Anyone who has driven through a National Park will find animals on the side of the road licking the salt put there by MAN!!

Then why did people get dis-ease BEFORE the invention of unsaturated fats? Most are a modern MAN-MADE fat. Not all that long ago the only fat to be had was saturated - that's why I use them to this very day.

Correct. However, there are 4 Great Cycles/Ages in man's spiritual evolution (which involves involution). They are Golden. Silver, Bronze and Iron. In each cycle we become more matter and less spirit. We are currently in the Iron Age.

Iron Age = Spirit is now in the dense, barbarial age/state of its involution (it is now mostly matter), and becomes more and more gross until it reaches the very lowest point of the Iron Age and then begins the evolution of matter back to Spirit.

Involution = The descent of spirit into matter; the transmutation of spirit into matter.

I have a feeling we are beginning our journey back to Spirit. In the meantime, shouldn't we do as much as possible to keep our vessels in the best shape possible?

People mentioned Dr. Joel Wallach in this thread, I've read his "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" lecture and watched some of the videos of that lecture.

There are things I don't like about the guy BUT the basic information about nutritional deficiencies causing disease is spot on.

There's another guy I found recently, Dr. Richard Olree, he has some lectures on youtube that are very interesting. He talks about trace minerals being necessary to form DNA properly. It's a huge subject.

Re: The lack of minerals is the root of all disease
In 1936 it was known that we are suffering from mineral deficienct foods, leading to ill health:

Verbatim Unabridged extracts from the
74th Congress 2nd Session
Senate Document #264, 1936

"Do you know that most of us today are suffering from certain dangerous diet deficiencies which cannot be remedied until depleted soils from which our food comes are brought into proper mineral balance?

The alarming fact is that foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contain enough of certain minerals are starving us - no matter how much of them we eat. ...

It is bad news to learn from our leading authorities that 99% of the American people are deficient in these minerals, and that a marked deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease. ... we sicken, suffer, shorten our lives.

Certainly our physical well-being is more directly dependent upon the minerals we take into our systems than upon calories of vitamins or upon the precise proportions of starch, protein of carbohydrates we consume.

This discovery is one of the latest and most important contributions of science to the problem of human health."
