The Oxymoron "War on Terror" – The Greatest Hypocrisy of Our Time

One of the best articles I've read in a long, long time.

Terrorism [noun]: The unlawful use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

War is politically motivated violence. War is, therefore, terrorism, enshrined in the law of one warring party.

War is a matter of perspective.

One can be a hero to one man, and a terrorist to another.

Do we really believe peace can be achieved by declaring war on war itself? Isn't that like fucking for virginity?

No matter how confusing the War on Terror becomes, no matter the geopolitics involved, no matter who is wearing which uniforms[COSTUMES!!], or what book they hold, or flag they fly, people who kill and die in the name of institutional abstracts are terrorists — whether they are lawmakers, rebels, military soldiers, suicide bombers or Heads of State. Those who willingly kill and terrify on behalf of a geopolitical agenda are terrorists. Period.

Why is terrorism increasing? Why would a terrorist sacrifice their own life to inflict harm on individuals? What are they responding to? Look no further than the reality of the behavior exhibited by the world’s leaders:

War on drugs leads to more drug use.

War on terror leads to more acts of terror.

Bombing is terror.

Strategic bombing, precision bombing, drone bombing, missile bombing, and ACME exploding vest bombing.

They are all the heart and soul of terror because they are indiscriminate and cowardly.

People were originally outraged by bombing.

They called it uncivilized and inhuman.

Now people joke about it, and even the president publicly joked about it.

A shameful first in American history.

The Nobel Prize winner had the "honor" of it.

The American public barely noticed.

So cavalier are the notions of Americans about bombing!

You don't need bombs if your men have backbones.

clappa

The United States has been at war for 224 years out of the last 241 years. Not one U.S. president qualifies as a solely peacetime president, and the only time the United States lasted 5 years without going to war was between 1935 and 1940 — during the period of the Great Depression.
