They don't necessarily KNOW any more than we do. They just have the money to prep for unlikely scenarios.

I would love to have a badass bunker and the truck in the photo looks like a blast. Honestly though when something does happen they will probably be somewhere else and the maid and Gardener will end up with the goodies.
