Yes, this is amazingly accurate - although I'm not intending to focus so much on the disappointment, but how to heal that which needs healed (if I can). You are correct that I'm not letting others support me, my sister told me as much just a couple of days ago. I will try to work on that, but there are others who need the support much more right now, and I don't want to add to anyone's stress or worry.

Yes I live on my own. Have an older sister in California that I talk on the phone with once a month and a married daughter in Arizona who keeps trying to talk me into moving there but I don't want to live in the desert.
