Will Trump Reinstate the Smith-Mundt Act Obama Repealed And Once Again Ban State Sponsored Propaganda?

this is what i love about the swiss direct government system and hate about the us system. i am a us citizen, by the way.

in switzerland, you cn collect signatures for something. case in point, collect 10,000 signatures to reinstate smith-mundt, and it goes to a vote--a vote by the people (as opposed to the corrupt house and senate). if the majority of the people vote yes, then, it is passed into law.

the repeal of smith-mundt was a horrible turning point. i don't know which was worse, this, or clinton repealing glass-steagall

When I wrote the President, I also said that if he does not re-instate the Smith Mundt Act, that it might be the only way I see him losing support. Because if he does not re-instate it, people might begin to think that he is a part of what is going on. Why else would he not re-instate the Smith Mundt Act if he claims to hate the media so much?

Glass Steagall doesn't have as much broad effect on the population as Smith Mundt tho....imo.

Thanks for this post OP. I was thinking about this very subject yesterday. One of the congress critters tweeted something about a town hall and they were looking forward to hearing ideas. I almost tweeted this exact issue. I'm pretty certain they don't really read responses to their tweets, so I didn't bother. I'm not in their state/district anyway. Oh well. Glad to see it brought back up here though!

However, it would have been impossible with McCain still alive, and them desperately needing the military funding through NDAA.

There may be other ways around it, but I don't think this was a priority at the time. Just staying in office and fighting the demonrat's and RINO's with their other bullshit was the priority.
