I believe you must educate yourself using many different sources (books, newspapers, magazines etc.) There are so many complicated layers in news reporting. It takes years to be able to read between the lines in any news report and discern the reliability of its sources. "Trust but verify."

Kids nowadays couldn't use a card catalog in a library if they had to, I don't belive. Nearly all the schools have Tablets (electronic) that they use in place of books. Encyclopedias are practically obsolete. All the news can be read for free on your cell phone. Now, what happens when those electronics can't be charged up? It's all gone. Without books, history is erased and ignorance becomes commonplace. History is what makes a culture. Culture makes unity. Without these things, a dictator easily takes over. Very good point. I have thought that too. Any book could slowly and subtly be changed on the internet into anything. Total control. I'm keeping ALL my books safe. I hear that a set of encyclopedias is worth a lot of money now. I love books that I can hold and have covers etc. a physical book. All this technology is bad. Evil. It is not progress at all. Look at all the ancient scrolls/writings that have been found buried, stored in caves, etc. I think this exact thing has happened before. We know they burned books in the past. It looks to me that the ancient people tried everything to tell us things. Cave paintings, dances, music, art, all sorts of different things were made to communicate with us. Me too!!
