Lost almost a year of my life to non-stop pain after a major surgery. Had horrible neuropathic pain 24-7. Was finally put on Neurontin...gabapentin...after 8 months. It took about a month to begin working. It saved my life. I had been suicidal for a couple of months before the Neurontin kicked in. Give the gabapentin a chance. Don't stop taking it yet. Keep it up along with your other meds. I was on it for about a year and a half while my body slowly continued to heal. I was still in some pain, but I could function fairly normally with just over the counter pain meds to supplement.
