I disagree, the value of the bTC can be manipulated IF you are using the values like USD/BTC

I saw time ago in the MtGox's time, how China was pumping in an amazing way and then dropped fast, really really fast

I was in Mtgox in 2012 (like a lot of people, but Mtgox was, well..we learned a lot with this exchanger), 2 days before they close the exchange the value started to soar too much, that was strange and then i exported the wallet to offline and closed the Mtgox account, 48 hours later...i was lucky that time

No, the NSA was 10 years late to the game. Cypherpunks were writing code and creating crytpographic currencies in the 80's - even before the internets. Satoshi took the work of previous pioneers and put it into the beautiful protocol that is bitcoin.

And it was all deemed illegal. Bitcoin was the first one okayed by the thinktank to make legal.

Although truthfully it didn't take much. He had to give up every single line of code to Bitcoin and in 6 months he would get a response, which as we all know was approval.

One can purchase BTC in ANY 7/11 over the counter here in Korea. There are ATMs setup in Seoul to get cash from BTC in 7 different paper currencies, including USD.

If the global communications network that BTC operates on is disabled, the entire global trade system and most of the fortune and market control of the elite will be destroyed with it. There are systems of censorship, great firewalls and "fake" news filters going into place because they have zero intention in bringing down the network. If anything it will grow to include your refrigerator and your wife's vibrator. Additionally, IF they brought down the entire network forever, localized self assembled and ad-hoc systems would spring up from the DIY/technical class and in short order would have basic transcontinental short form messaging over ssb and local access over wifi. The cat is out of the bag, they cant roll it back and they dont intend to.

BTC is just logical evolution, you keep your buggywhip and horse feed stocks, you probably dont even grasp what effect the 3d printer or $20 single board computer will have on the next 20 years.

Besides, you are a goddamned FOOL if you dont plunk down $1-3K on some BTC, put it on some long term backed up storage and see where it goes in 10 years. Its chump change peanuts to get into something with astronomical growth potential.

OK,so I looked.In dec 2014 was 1042,then down to 250,now back to 1012 or so.

What is very disturbing,as an investment it went on a parabolic rise.Which usually is followed by a parabolic crash.

If you are investing,I'd be selling right now,not buying.

Just saying,this has 'stock' written all over it to me,and thats what stocks do.

Lets revisit this thread and see where we are in a year,the historical chart after a parabolic rise on this says 250-300 in a year.

Dont get greedy,if you doubled or quadrupled your money,take the profit,dont ride it back down.

IMO,FWIW,looks like a classic pump and dump.Which is OK,you can make real good money on those.I love investments that rollercoaster up and down....But the key is knowing when to sell.

It was brand spankin new in 2014, a baby, learning to walk. Look at the trend's stability this time around, much different. Much less erratic. It is going to jump, this time much higher, we may even be in the midst of the start of this jump now. Yes it may fall back again but not nearly as low as it fell last time and certainly not with any sort of permanancy. This is not going away. Take a pencil and draw a line from the value of bitcoin in its infancy to the value of a bitcoin now. That's what you should be looking at, to the point.

It did a parabolic rise,followed by a parabolic CRASH.

It has just done a parabolic rise.

Some folks with BIG BUCKS in this will pull out,make a fortune,and play it again.And again if they are lucky.

I charted it from 40 cents to today.2 parabolic rises.One has already crashed.

So will this as almost ALL parabolic rises crash and burn.

Dont cheerlead yourself out of a profit if you already have one locked in.

The BIG BOYS in this are going to eat the little late comer cheerleaders alive,they already DID in 2015.

Make sure your move is with the big fish in this pond.

There's a difference between a parabolic curve that fully forms within the span of 30 days and one that forms for over a year and is maybe half formed at this point.

What so should I sell it and then buy it back just to convince you I made $20/btc? I keep it by choice, it has worked well for me. I am what a stock investor would call a "long". I look at the beginning, and I look at the end (which is to say now), I see a stable rise in market capital and trade volume. Even if it drops to $300/btc... do you not remember where it began? It HAS vavlue. I do not see the doom upcoming you do, sorry. I see a maturing currency and commodity without any defined or real limit on how much of the total world market capital it can get. Yes there are storage issues if thousands of times more transactions begin to occur, but this is where some of these other cryptocurrencies, or aspects of them begin coming into play, or new ones emerge. It is interesting what is happening
