I'm curious why your poll didn't specifically include "manufacturing" goods?

We USED to make the things we used and exported the balance.

Then we started exporting the equipment and technology to make those things, i.e. we exported the jobs instead of the actual goods.

What, in my opinion, we NEED to do is stop creating the mindset that EVERYONE has to go to college; we've dumbed down higher education and made parents ashamed if their kids actually want to learn a trade or how to make things for a living.

Your poll, similarly, doesn't talk about the good paying jobs, lots of them that are going unfilled and forcing employers to automate because they cannot find people who want to weld, for example.

Any number of robotic welding systems cost well upward of a million dollars or more. That's a $20 per hour job plus benefits, for 30-35 years by which time the machine will have needed replacement.

Manufacturing was not excluded, it is inherent in the mix of all jobs possible. If one goes off world or makes the deserts bloom manufactured goods are required.

You ask these questions after the fact.
To late as all the jobs have been shipped out of this country already.

Every should benefit from the increased productivity that technology has brought us instead of just the few elite.

I think every should have skin in the game and work but I also think work hours should be cut in half with the same pay.

People say there will always be more jobs created from technology.

The technology in the past was created to enhance and help the workers. The technology coming out today involves replacing the workers.


In the 1800's, there were over 20 million horses in US that were used for Entertainment, Harvesting Fields, Transportation, and so on.

The engine replaced the horse and as a consequence the horse population dropped to 4.5 million in 1959.

Where are all the horses? They were no longer needed.

People say but those were horses, not humans.

Except there are humans that look down on others as useless eaters so those are looked at just like the horses if not worse

This is a major issue. People need a purpose, being a wirthless eater is not enough. I believe, we are smart enough to find solutions.

I have no faith in the systems and entities of humanity which organize and govern our live. Even humanity on a personal single level, itself. No faith what so ever.

Well, I am not much of religious person, the bible says the meek shall inherit the earth.

Logically speaking, the elites are the winners right now but are always the losers in the end every time.

Of course, a new elite takes over and the process repeats.

i woulld add since women have entered the workforce in such large numbers this has been the major factor in all our current social problems..and we are only just starting to see the flow on effects from this, its only gonna get worse before it gets better and until this modern philosophy is changed the problems will persist
