Compare the number of quakes along the South American coast shown here: [ link to earthquake.usgs.gov] With the number of quakes shown on this site: [ link to www.emsc-csem.org] The emsc site is more difficult to use and I had difficulty even finding their map - but they are listing four times as many quakes over 2.5 as the usgs site.
