HELP... my 10 yr old golden retriever has growths on upper gums
VET says he's afraid to operate as it may kill her.

She's got protein leaking in kidneys.
Her blood pressure was high.
He's got her on Enalapril and Amlodipine to help her kidneys and blood pressure.

He has run a battery of tests. Found nothing wrong with her. So I'm thinking it's the tumors/growths in her mouth causing the kidney issues.

So, now that vet suggesting no other alternatives...

Anyone dealt with this before?

Any hollistic advice to kill/reduce mouth growths?

Poor thing is so cute.

Also, my prayer warrior friends, PRAY please for Missy.

Thank you for all advice and prayers.

Right offhand I would get some tumeric essential oil and powdered myhrr, baking soda and coconut oil, mix to a paste, equal amts myhrr, soda and c. oil, add tumeric oil to get a stiff paste and apply thickly on the spots twice a day.

Best wishes for the doggy.

I wish I did...unfortunately it sounds as if age is taking it's toll...I know it's not what you want to hear.

Is this what she has?

[link to www.petmd.com]

If so, I can understand why a Vet would be cautious about operating.....you might try getting a 2nd opinion?

Editing to add, I did read where radiation therapy may be an option to at least slow growth...but of course you have to ask, at what cost.

Red Oak is milder but can be used as well,

Do not use any tinctures with alcohol in it for pets... best if you collect your own and make a "tea":

Excerpts:

The Miraculous Healing Properties of Oak Bark

...
...

. Several Indian tribes used thin strips of the inner bark, placed them between the gum and lips, and left it there over night to heal sores of the gums and to tighten loose teeth. The crushed bark was also used in a poultice for gangrene...

...
...

Medicinal Properties

The active ingredients in oak bark are tannin and quercin. Quercin is similar in effect to salicin and is used along with bioflavinoids to strengthen the capillaries and veins. White oak bark also contains ample amounts of calcium, manganese, potassium and magnesium. Its primary therapeutic properties are astringent and antiseptic. A few of oak’s other properties—haemostatic (arrests internal bleeding), febrifuge (reduces fever), diuretic, anti-emetic (relieves malarial-type fevers and chills), and anti-venomous (antidote for poisonous plants, insects and snake bites.)...

...

...

Thrush

Dr. Christopher tells us of a case in Utah where an 18-month-old boy had thrush so bad that the stench could be smelt from across the large living room:

"Quickly we made oak bark tea and concentrated it down to half its original volume. With the little fellow on my knee, an atomizer was used to spray oak bark tea into his mouth through his swollen lips, white sores and swollen tongue. Since he could not swallow well because of the sores and the swelling in the throat, it was necessary to tip him over, so that the liquid wouldn’t run out of his mouth. This procedure was repeated several times. This child could swallow only small amounts of fluid that would seep down his throat. Instructions were given to the parents to give him only red raspberry leaf tea to drink and as much oak bark tea as possible until he healed. I was called back the next day because of an injury to an older boy and, as I stepped in the house, the little boy who had been treated for thrush came rushing over, threw his arms around my leg and looked up with a big smile. His lips were down to normal size, the white sores showing a healing pink. He was happy."

...One lady was told that she needed to have all her teeth removed and was scheduled for surgery in two weeks...
.... Needless to say, when she went to her dentist, he cancelled the surgery since there was no longer any sign of pyorrhea and her gums were totally healed.....

...
...

*** NOTE - I have made tea from the twigs, leaves and acorns and put some in my pets' drinking water when warrented...***

Re: HELP... my 10 yr old golden retriever has growths on upper gums
I can say for sure coconut oil. It is like magic for dogs. I use it here on mine both internally and externally. It is anti-inflammatory, anti- bacterial, soothing, and will naturally rid your pet of any parasites. Mine are living proof.

Just some other things to consider...

My dogs don't do the "vet" thing unless injured. They are completely vaccination free, don't ever receive chemicals for fleas or whatever (coconut oil), and only eat butcher scraps or table scraps of REAL food (beef, chicken, pork, some rice, and lots of bones to chew).

My dogs are perfectly healthy and well behaved. Their teeth are shiny white and strong and their coats are most beautiful and pleasant to the touch.

I'm not selling you anything - just giving you something to consider. Like many things modern science says to prevent, it may help cause also.

1. Try changing the dog food food to something better.

2. 24 hour water fast, once a month.

She eats IAMS natural chicken.

Interesting about the water fast.. There's research for people that indicates a correlation between boosting the immune system by fasting. It actually resets your immune system.

Good idea to try it for Missy.

It's a 10 year old dog, quit being a child, realize the dog will die at some point, and don't make it suffer because you are emotionally a 4 year old.

Then get a new fucking dog...

Google - Epulis

Maybe get a second opinion from another vet, one that does more surgical intervention.

Bro, ten years is getting there. Buy her a few good meals and do whatever you both liked to do together as many times as you can. Hard to go through, brother.

Get some marijuana oil. No idea where to get it, as I've tried in FL. But, maybe you could get some. I don't think it would kill her/him, do you? I really don't know, but if it were my dog, I would do it as a last resort, or first resort, if I could get it.

Where do they keep that stuff, anyway?

It would be really helpful to identify what KIND of growths they are... are they tumors like MAST cell tumors or are they something else entirely?

Maybe you could get a better response with more info.

Best of luck to your puppy.
