There are going to be numerous "laws" of physics that are going to be put into question this year. Look up Brilliant Light Power. Um... fair enough on the Daily Mail, but I'm currently working in a Chinese scientific research institute. Not physics (that one is just down the road from me, next to bioelectronics), but you get the point. The science funding system in China is superb... which is why I'm here rather than in the UK right now. |

Quoting: The Comedian :D Shoot buddy, if you REALLY want to be pissed off then consider this: The follow up manned program to the Apollo missions was supposed to be a series of manned fly-by's of the planet Venus starting in the mid 70's. No landing on Venus obviously but we were going to use a Saturn V rocket, remove the lunar lander and use that space as a "work/livable space" and go to Venus (it would take about 6 weeks), orbit a few times, and then slingshot back to Earth. But due to the military-industrial complex (Johnson's out of control spending in Vietnam) and the burgeoning welfare state (Johnson's "great" society) those plans were scrapped (as were Apollo 18, 19, and 20) and we had to settle for the Skylab space station, which was "alright" I guess but never realized it's potential, nearly didn't work in the first place (kudo's to NASA and the scientists and Astronauts for their "fix" in orbit) and it burned up in 1979 since the Shuttle wasn't ready yet and couldn't lift it up to a higher orbit. Yeah, pisses me off too... AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM: KICKING ASS, KILLING NAZIS, KILLING COMMIES, MAKING BABIES, BUILDING CITIES, EXPLORING SPACE, GOING TO THE MOON, AND PUTTING THE "CIVIL" IN CIVILIZATION SINCE 1776! ****************************** But I tell you this man, I tell you this, I carry an aura of "fuck you" everywhere I go and while I may not cause scenes I can sure as hell continue them and escalate them but good. ****************************** There is going to be a second revolution folks. Count on it - and it will be the citizens against the government. It will be damn bloody. It will be a war of attrition. It will result in over 100 million dead. The heavy handedness of the government - the fascists in code enforcement and animal control especially - have brought this upon themselves. |
