US Fed Gov't wants all cars to TALK to each other reported on NBC Nightly News
Saw this on NBC news tonight. I knew it was coming.

When I looked it up online, I also found this article on freedom of thought...

On the news, they talked about how every fifteen minutes here in the United States someone dies in a car crash. They talked up the safety of the future, and how lives would be saved.

BULLSHIT.

I was driving in Denver last week, hit black ice, and slid into another car. Couldn't steer, couldn't brake. Sorry, wifi won't help that.

This is a blatant attempt to control.

If cars can talk to each other, that means they can be accessed externally. I *guarantee* you this will include kill switch software.

I also saw that they want to be able to keep tracking your speed and location at all times.

Fuck you, FED, fuck you.

Works for me as long as I can pay a little extra so the only thing my car says is "Fuck you get out of the way".
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

Or something

You know, I hear you.

But, as a software/database engineer, sorry. I'll stop driving.

Honestly, if you believe this is a purely benevolent act on the part of the Gov't acting in our best interest...

Well, you probably believe that electronic voting systems are not rigged, too.

Got news for you.....

You're an idiot.

Now, if this is supposed to be able to prevent car accidents.... I truly wonder what the auto insurance rackets are going to have to say about it.

Someone will create a box that does car-talk and when a button is pushed it will scream "OMG LOCK YOUR BRAKES UP NOW!"

Hilarity will ensue.

Lester Holt will report the breaking story with a couple of black eyes from the airbag deploying.

That's a whole lot of assuming you're doing based off of one sarcastic remark.

Honestly, that was not as I intended it. I was aiming that comment at the unwashed masses who do believe that the Gov't has your best interests at heart.

My apologies...

All said and done it is marketed as a safety feature while all along it's a central control measure. It's the same as the desire to develop self driving cars.

First step is to lock down the ECU, TCU and other devices on the vehicle's local bus. BMW is leading the way with cheerleading from the other auto manufacturers to make it illegal for you to play with your own vehicle.

We're already seeing 'assistive' technologies such as automatic braking and parallel parking, lane drift and blind spot warnings.

Shoot, I get annoyed with cars that have a 'low traction' idiot light on the dash board and disable seat belt chimes.
