Actually your red comes from the BROWN hair mixed with blonde. True Celtic dominant genetic is BROWN haired, freckled and green eyed.

Scandinavians (maybe tribe of benjamin) dominant gene is blonde blue eyed. Again red hair no freckles the scandinavian blonde mixed with brown hair blue eyes.

The reason red hair is deemed (royal) is because celt and scandinavian chieftains would inter breed and the result would often be red hair. If they had freckles the child stayed here in brittain if they had NO freckles they were scandis and went there. They were kind of allowed by both nations to do what they want, because they could be recognised as chieftain breeding by their red hair. In genetic terms however red heads were and always will be (to some of us) merely mixed race. It was kind of like an age old argument between the two species, was freckles dominant to non freckles etc etc, green to blue blah blah blah. You see some scandis have the freckled gene which is the GREEN gene, but not visible freckles - it kind of hides sometimes, essentially blue is dominant though, and 99% of all green eyed people today have a hazel/brown eyed parent - this is due to roman rape. True green eyes is probably a thing of the past, the minimum requirement is green and blue as parents, but seeing as though blue is dominant to green its very very unlikley to come about, without their being some brown to water down the blue.
