This thread has got me wondering - Is "Red for Trump, Green for Hillary" stil around? Or was it, as I suspect, that poster was just a shillary?

Cruz was the only one according to you.

Some of the things you said were very nasty and despicable you was acting like a Liberal shill.

Nobody can take you seriously anymore.

From my viewpoint the best thing happened that could have happened in this election. I'm going to back Trump and pray he's able to do the things necessary to rebuild this country. I'm pleasantly surprised by many of his Cabinet picks so far, so I'm willing to admit that so far I've been wrong about him, and I'm glad I was.

If he turns on the base of people that elected him and supported him I'll deal with that when it happens, we'll all have to. To my mind he's been true to his word thus far which is all we can ask for, so he has my full support...

I don't see how you could say that knowing you voted for Johnson.

Anyway if you really don't like Shillary then I got some bad news.

It's not over yet and Shillary is still trying to steal the election.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35176657

She ain't got a chance, just another scam to pocket more donated funds...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

She does have a chance.

She doesn't need to flip those states she just needs to delay them long enough to where they can't certify their vote by Dec 13 in which case those states electors wont get to vote.

If those states are delayed long enough and don't get to cast their electoral votes then you only need 246 instead of 270 to win.

It would would be 260 to 232 then Shillary would need 15 faithless electors and she already has 7.

Currently if she delayed those states long enough the count would be 253 Trump 239 Shillary.

If she managed to flip 8 more then it would be Trump 245 Shillary 247.

She is still trying to steal the election who knows if she will pull it off or not.

Some clues that this is what she is attempting is how they waited a couple weeks before calling for a recount and she is trying to force hand counts which are far slower.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35176657

Don't be surprised on 20 January 2017 when I revisit this thread; Donald Trump will raise his right hand and swear on THE BIBLE the Oath of the office of the President of the United States. God Bless America.

and Ted Cruz's proof of US citizenship - his Canadian birth certificate. another do
 Quoting: BeenAround®

We didn't go through this enough in the primaries?

I was in the U.S. Army in 1990 when my son was born in Seoul, South Korea. The hospital issued a "Certificate of Live Birth." The U.S. Embassy in Seoul issued a "Certification of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America."

We have a brighter future ahead. It does us no good to bring up that Canadian shit again.
 Quoting: Where Eagles Dare

there is a difference. he wasnt born in canada bc one of his parents was working for the govt.....at least not ON RECORD, so while your kid is eligible....Ted Cruz is NOT.

the report of a child born overseas is issued by the state dept, bc birth in a military hospital is considered ON US SOIL....Cruz was born on foreign soil.

now, if Cruz, his parents, and the US govt want to come out and say cruz's daddy was working as a spy in canada for the Cia or somesuch.....they can do it and issue him a retro-DoS birth certificate......what do you think the odds are that will ever happen? is it even true?

CRUZ WAS NEVER ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR POTUS.

You know I've been on GLP a long time, and my real friends remained my friends despite our minor political difference, it's nice to see those whose opinions I've come to respect on GLP remain friends, and those whose opinions I never really gave a rats ass about...well, I continue to give a rats ass about. I want to thank those who have been my friends on here and continue to be. We've argued a bit, but I never doubted that you wanted what's best for this Nation, I hope you never doubted that I only wanted the same.

My support for Trump has nothing to do with anyone elses opinion, it has to do with my country and the future of this great nation. My disagreements with Trump during the primaries had little to do with his positions, though I still wish he was a little more "Libertarian" on privacy issues there was not a candidate running in this election cycle that I was in 100% agreement with so you try to find the best you can and go from there.

Trump saved us from the disaster that would have been a Hillary Clinton Presidency, and that counts for a LOT in my mind. This nation is in bad enough trouble after 8 years of BO, I can't imagine where we would have been if Hillary had been elected. I'm sure I won't agree with everything Trump does going forward but if he continues as he has so far I'm pretty sure I'll agree with much more than I disagree with, this is simply what happens in a representative Republic, so we just try to get the best we can, and hope they do the best they can...

So despite everything, and political differences aside, my hope is that President Trump wants what is best for the United States of America, and if he does, we share common ground with millions of other American's. Whether or not we agree on every single issue ultimately doesn't mean a lot, simply having a President that truly wants what's best for this Nation will be a pleasant change from the last twenty years of Republicans and democrats...

Re: A View From The Libertarian Side...
While I supported Cruz in the Primary, and voted for Gary Johnson in the General (in Texas where I have the luxury of throwing my vote away if I so choose), I must say the enthusiasm and general positive feeling I'm seeing everywhere around Trump is contagious, and even heart warming.

I haven't seen people this positive about America's future since Ronald Reagan, and I'm caught up in that enthusiasm.

Will Trump be everything people think he will be? I see so many different ideas about how he'll actually govern that frankly I don't see how he could be everything to everyone, but judging from his recent statements, and cabinet picks I am very relieved that he doesn't seem to be playing out my worst fears which were that he would revert back to his Manhattan roots and move left when it came time to actually govern our great Nation. I've never been so glad to be wrong about something in my entire life.

In this holiday season I pray for Donald Trump and his Administration. They say America is divided, but we the American people have decisively handed the keys over to the Republicans in all branches of Government in a way that hasn't happened in four generations, now it's time to see if the GOP can actually Govern instead of obstruct, and in all honesty as far as a "Go-Getter" who can hopefully change the gears of the Grand Old Party from neutral to drive, you couldn't ask for a more enthusiastic and energetic person than Donald Trump for this job.

I don't care who you voted for at this point, Donald Trump is my President, and he is your President, and I pray for his success and the success of our Nation on a daily basis.

Perhaps Donald Trump is a man of destiny, perhaps this swing to the right in the political opinions of American's will be enough to pull us back from the edge of the cliff, regardless it is a heartening attempt, and it's nice to know that majority of American people are rejecting the neo-liberal ideas globalism and multiculturalism.

My country feels like home again.

God Bless Donald Trump, and God Bless the U.S.A...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

What do you mean it hasnt happened in 4 generations. We had a Republican President, House and Senate in 2005-2006. Full Republican control and then we all know what happened. I am just stating the facts. I still remember George W. Bush as President, Dennis Hastert as Speaker of the House, and Ted Stevens as Senate President pro tem.

Yeah but they have enough majority in the House and Senate to finally make a real difference (Remember the Senate went back to democrats during George W's 2006 midterms in disastrous fashion). My fear is that the Republican's are not geared towards actual leadership (they most certainly weren't in 05-06), but Trump may drag them along kicking and screaming anyway, because I do believe now that Trump intends to make some serious changes...
