Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 70790916 Canada 12/02/2016 02:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That was beautiful, O.P. I like poetic language to be a bit more high flung than average speech. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64201837 I was touched by it. Keep at it! 5 stars. Thanks. I have some historical essays that have been published in an established journal and several novels up on Amazon, but I haven't touched poetry for a long time. True story... I am a Christian as the American poster realized, and when I took poetry in college I could not get a decent grade until I realized even poetry had become so politically correct (even already in the mid-90s) that I had to leave my religion out of it and sound like a new ager. So, I wrote a poem all about blending with nature and praising human intellect, and yaddy yada. Got an A+ on that one, and haven't written another poem since. |

Academia is SOOOO biased while they try to pass themselves off as being sooo "open minded." What a hoot. |

The streets were our oyster, we smoked urban Poison and we turned all this noise on, We knew how to fight. We dropped out and tuned in, spoke secret Jargon and we would not bargain for what We had found in the days of the underground. We believed in Guevera, we saw that head held up And our anger welled up, But we kept it cool. No need for machine guns 'cause the system was Crumbling, our leaders were fumbling, While we broke every rule. We saw them on T.V. they'd blown their cover and we Tried to smother their voices With sound, in the days of the underground. Whatever happened to those chromium heroes, are There none of them still left around, since The days of the underground I'm of a quite different world view (though I realize the need for change as much as this poetry does) but I still recognize good poetry! Well done. Several things strike me..."Brainbox pollution," "chromium heroes" especially... |
