It sounds to me like someone looking to pretend to do some "investigative reporting" chose this rather than to look in to voter fraud in the Denver area. The media loves the "shiny thing." First of all, Buckley's airspace only extends upward a few thousand feet. So, like they said at DIA, they would have not been in contact with the aircraft unless it was going to traverse that airspace or land. Secondly, I cannot fathom how the US Army was involved in any way in airspace used by commercial AC over an entire sector of several states like that. NORAD, NORTHCOM and STRATCOM know fucking everything. They certainly could "locate" the AC. They just have no need nor desire to talk to a bunch of idiot reporters.
