Thank you for the truth, GLP

One of the images burned into my heart when I was a child during the Cold War was of an Eastern European family huddled around a radio listening to Radio Free Europe. They were hearing uncensored news from the West, hearing the voice of truth in a world flooded with state-run media and propaganda. They were listening to hope.

Now, I know that RFE may have been no more than a Western propaganda machine, but I was 10 and I believed. The idea (and ideal) of hearing the truth in a blizzard of lies was what stayed with me.

GLP, you are my Radio Free Europe. I come here for largely uncensored news that shows up here days before watered down versions hit the MSM, raw material such as links to Wikileaks and Project Veritas, and thoughtful speculation on the events of the world by people with their eyes wide open. Sure, there's a lot of weirdness and a bunch of shills and disinformation, but there's also a lot of unfiltered truth. There are many people here who are passionate about the TRUTH.

If this election goes the wrong way, who knows what happens to alternative sites like this. So I'm taking this opportunity to say it now: Thank you GLP. You're weird, and you're raw, sometimes you're just plain crazy, but you're my home on the Net and I pray you're here for a long, long time.
