What makes someone a separate being besides physical distinction?
This is hard to explain, so I hope someone understands me. So when we're born, our brain begins to mold around our experiences. Got it. Our ego, id and superego begin to form. But without these, what actually makes us separate besides physical proximity and distinction? When we're born, are we literally just replicas of each other, but nature just made us look/sound different to give the illusion of separateness? I hope SOMEONE is following me because this has been bugging me for a while now. If we're just replicas, with brains that cause us to think of ourselves as separate/different, then do we really actually die as long as people are being born? Like that baby that's being born right now--is it just you again? Or me again? I'm just you again if I'm younger, or you're just me again if I'm older. Aaaaaah!! Does this make sense?

But that's what I mean by physical distinction. Nature made us with physical distinction and proximity to give us the illusion of separateness? Take away fingerprints. Take away genes making us appear different. Strip it all down to our brain. If we all looked the same, but had brains, would we still be different, or would we all be the same person looking through a different pair of eyes?!?!

But what if we're all thinking as one about different things? Strip away all your ego thoughts of I. Just imagine this: Everyone looks like YOU! Same genetic expression. But everyone has their own brain. So you're seeing you everywhere but just different thoughts. I feel like I'm hacking nature right now.

I wish I was fucking borg. Fucking is very hard to come by when you have individuality.

Re: What makes someone a separate being besides physical distinction?
Nature knew that without genetic diversity, there wouldn't be any survival/competition. Could you kill someone that looked exactly like you for food? What if you saw the reflection of yourself suffering everywhere? Or what if you saw the reflection of yourself enjoying yourself, everywhere? Could you take it? Could you have sex with yourself? I know this sounds crazy, but whatever designed us, or however came to be knew that our higher intelligence we needed to be seen as separate and look different. While all other animals of the same specie look almost identical.
