New parallel fault discovered next to SAFZ. Looks to me like the entire Central Valley perimeter has been active. Never seen the white wolf fault so active. That possibly indicates trouble for Bakersfield/Arvin/Tehachapi, and the earthen dams at Lake Isabella.

Funny story, if you miss a few days of reading glp, you can save yourself a lot of money. I live in so cal and missed the prep window this last week due to being too busy to read glp, haha! ( i have my earthquake preps anyway)

Yeah Cali has quakes - and the east coast has hurricanes - have been to the hurricane threads to bitch and whine about why people live in Florida? The midwest has tornadoes...do you bitch to people about why they live in Kansas?

Salton Sea area, the San Andreas is the most studied, monitored seismic zone probably of anywhere. And they only just now discovered a new fault running along it? Then how can anything they have said be trusted? For example, they say the southern San Andreas could "only" produce about an 8 .... but oops wait, there is another fault running next to it we didn't know about all these years.

Because that fault hasn't moved yet, meaning something has got it into motion--little steps to big quakes.

Note they also say how they are forced to re evaluate for Los Angeles...

I was only "tipped off" to LA due to a UFO display there a lil under a few weeks back...

Let us see what happens if they next will be putting an EQ advisory out for LA...

The OES is flying blind. No one can predict when an earthquake will occur, or when the seismic activity will stop. If they are right, it's purely accidental.

Southern Cal people must be very aware now and prepare as best they can. If nothing else happens, great. If something does, at least they're prepared, or as prepared as can be in an unknown situation.

The is also the San Jacinto fault next to the San Andreas which they theorize both could go off at the same time - and now a new fault running parallel to both...so in theory I guess that would be 3 faults right next to each other that go kaboom

Because they can't harness Mother Nature. At best all they can do is guesstimate. There's so much science doesn't know about the earth. What little they do know would fill a thimble by comparison. They only think they know.

I don't know how to prepare for it other than have some emergency supplies. Not much else to do. I was in the Northridge quake and that came out of nowhere....that was a fault they hadn't previously known about either.

The quakes now will be in the 8-10 range. You watch.

Southern California will use any excuse to take a siesta.

It fully depends on if you have experienced a big quake or not yet. If you have been in the middle of one - yeah we do worry about it and talk about it. Any real person who lives here any amount of time is well past the pretend blase "we don't even think about quakes" poser stance.

Thankfully, whatever happens on the Southern San Andreas, San Diego fairs pretty well.. Los Angeles will have big issues if there is south to north propagation.
