Approx 90% of people who ring my landline or knock on my door ask me for money.

Just got rid of another one.

So that’s pretty much my experience of the human race.

Little friendship or care – just give me, give me, give me…

Are you shocked?

People became a tormenting plague to others in order to squize every penny to pay their debt or just survive.

The more banks play into reducing the circulating money the more the slaves will be formenting you.

Do you want to buy some fresh cookies I'm baking? Almonds, coconut, organic eggs and butter, spices, goji berries, sultans, oat rice buckweath.

I'll make you a good price, can I ring you just now?

That's true OP. From charities who fill a void to cover expenses not paid for by dictators, to people trying to scam you by using online trading...

Buy something on Ebay and the seller will send you an email of their latest "bargain" every 2 days.

I'm thinking of telling everyone I went bankrupt just to get rid of them...

Karma is funny, people who kick dogs usually get bitten.
If someone doesn't add value to your life, then that someone shouldn't be a part of it.
You can always trust people to do whatever is in their own interests.

Not shocked – more appalled. They’re mostly charities. I find it ironic that all these “causes” expect you to give a fok. Used to have a sign telling them not to knock but they did anyway…

“Tormenting” is a good word. They cant even let you rot in peace…ha ha

I used to associate a knock on the door with a positive experience - now I hate it...

"How are you?" they start with. I hate that. It forces me to be rude and abrupt because if you give them anything the are just harder to get rid of...I have to cut them off before they start their spiel - which can go on and on..."What do you want?" I interrupt with...

It destroys civility.

Actually I rarely do answer the landline. Once every now and then just to confirm that my hypothesis is correct.

The door is harder. If the main door is shut I can ignore it but a screen door just lets them know Im home - they don't just go...It's quicker to send them on their way...Then there's the hope of the 10%...

I also have Asian guy from Microsoft who wants access to my computer.
And
A recording claiming the IRS has a file and I need to call.

At least the computer scam is a live person and I can have so excited fun.

I hear you, being as poor as a church mouse, I answered the door yesterday to a young girl with her form from school to sponsor for a run, no problem, as she handed me the note everyone had been giving average of $10 and $20 Oh my!!
I gave her $5, not much, but dinner for two nights, I felt so embarrassed.

Get a sticker on your door that tells them to fuck off and that you do not buy from door knockers.

Then if they still knock on your door, its less awkward when you tell them to fuck off.

90% of the money likely does not even reach the charity.

Likely less than 1% actually to the cause.

FUck charity muggers.

I have no time for them and will happily bark at the cunts.

Its a scam.

I work 12 hour shifts & hate being woken by stupid people so I printed out a sign that says

SHIFT worker sleeping
Do not knock or ring doorbell
If you wake said shift worker
you will earn yourself
a high five
in the face
with a chair
Sincerely a tired shift worker

Haven't had a knock since. I also got rid of the home phone, if any of my family or friends need me they have a way to get hold of me :)

I know right... On one hand we're taught to be polite, but other people just don't take the hint.

At least with mobile phones you can add them to a reject list.

Re: 90% of people who ring my landline or knock on my door ask me for money
My mailbox runneth over with appeals for money, suggested amount is average $15! I get about 100 per month for all kinds of causes, some more worthy than others. Trash bin fills up pretty quickly.

I don't answer the phone unless caller ID shows a familiar name. They're sellin', I'm not buyin'. The calls come from all over the country, area codes I've never heard of, and they never leave a message. Delete, delete, delete. Almost a full-time job.
