I met Nichelle at a Houston convention, she was incredible adorable and sweet. I met shatner in New Orkeans and thought the same thing you did. I think he was wearing the same leather jacket lol!
I was surprised to learn that sir Patrick Stewart was a bit of a meany to volunteers and fans. :(

"The Gamesters of Triskelion" is a second season episode of the original science fiction television series Star Trek.

Captain Kirk and his companions are abducted into slavery and trained to fight as gladiators for the gambling entertainment of three disembodied beings who call themselves "the providers".

Roddenberry understood what was coming (as with many of the episodes).

Re: Happy 50th Anniversary Star Trek!
This was a huge deal back in the day.

"Plato's Stepchildren" is the tenth episode of the third season of the original science fiction television series, Star Trek, first broadcast November 22, 1968. It is episode No. 65, production No. 67, written by Meyer Dolinsky, and directed by David Alexander. This episode is notable for depicting an inter-racial kiss between a white man (Kirk) and a black woman (Uhura), which was daring for 1960s US television.

Free to play Star Trek Online just hit consoles. It's actually not a bad game if you love Star Trek lore. Me I've watched all of the series multiple times and the movies, besides TOS. I have never managed to get through all of TOS yet.

Voyager was the best for all the Borg lore and I think Q was the all time best entity encountered.

I know and I have been meaning to. It's just im in my 40s and it's a bit dated. TNG was my passion though. DS9 was dark, then along came Voyager to recapture that exploration aspect. Ent was a bumpy ride but worth it in the end.

It's been said that Gene Roddenberry was influenced by positive ET to make Star Trek. I think many starseeds definitely gravitate to it. What if there really is a Prime Directive that keeps advanced benevolent ET from contacting us until we are ready?
